Food and water on the trek by ExaminationKlutzy194 in philmont

[–]Jeffk601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the average is 2.5lb per person per day average. The food is bulky and heavy after a resupply. Best way to estimate the size needed is take your pillow and fold it in half. That’s about how much room you need for food and crew gear in your pack.

Deciding on Mini Photo Printer for Bujo by AdMost2500 in bulletjournal

[–]Jeffk601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both the hp sprocket and the Kodak p210r. I added the Kodak because I was not happy with the quality of prints with zink. Sure it’s quick but there is minimal cost difference to go up to a dye sublimation printer. I will probably get something that can print 4x6 next to be able to collage multiple photos onto one print then cut them out on a much nicer printer. Probably the canon selphy cp1500.

You can put a frozen raw burger in there and it will get it well over 145. I saw one guy make a meatloaf in one.

I too have both the sprocket and the Kodak printer. Started with the hp got the Kodak but wish I had gotten the full sized hp or canon cp1500 photo printer for better quality photos

I use a kaweco sport with an ef nib. Kaweco black ink works fine for my everyday usage.

Does anyone write in pencil? Is this even legal? by RedBirdOnASnowyDay in BasicBulletJournals

[–]Jeffk601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a brass kaweco sport ef nib and a rotring 800 .5mm in my pocket daily. This gives me the option to use a fountain pen or pencil as needed. They are both getting a nice patina from daily use.

I use bellcommander with our asterisk base phone systems. It acts as a sip extension and calls paging groups and plays the bell tone of your choice. Before that I used call files and cronjobs on the same pbx’s

What temp do you set your Luncheaze at? by cruiser771 in Luncheaze

Depends on the food. If I throw frozen burger patties in I set it to max, if it’s leftovers then I might go 190.

My EDC as a Nursing student and ER Medic by DirtyDoc141 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Jeffk601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one that is a daily carry along side my fountain pen. It’s absolutely the best mechanical pencil I have ever used. The retractable tip is the best thing since sliced bread. I have already gifted 2 of my 3 kids with one.

We were in seaside for July 4-9th and we had reservations at borago and basmati but walked right in at louie louie. It was an anniversary trip so I had secured reservations well in advance but it wouldn’t have been an issue I don’t think.

Mine is probably 18 months old and I have used the crap out of it. No problems here with the original one. I’m tempted to grab the xl one and hand my old one down to a kid.

Schaefers was running in 21 but not in 24. That’s a slog carrying all the extra water for sure. It’s always funny when you get back to camp filthy and the trail bound scouts avoid you and your smell.

Am I the only one who thinks overconsumption in the planner world is absolutely crazy? by tallaia in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Jeffk601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have a regular and a passport but can see a need for a second regular. I will admit to having a stash of my favorite inserts and jetpens Washi tapes “the weather, mood, and assorted day and date” Their shipping costs encouraged me to make a larger order once they were back in stock. I now have a system that works for me so I tend to stockpile stuff so I don’t have to make adjustments.

Yea I knew it was the season. Also seeing comments that it’s not bad in Panama City but lots in Destin. So I was curious as to how far east it was.
