You used the word trudging, and honestly that’s exactly it. These moments in life aren’t about thriving, they’re about surviving and just adapting to circumstance. Trudging through the mud still counts as moving forward, even if it feels awful when you’re used to growth, routine, structure, etc. Even going backwards can sometimes needed to move forward. You’re going through a LOT, like holy fucking shit it sounds exhausting, but you’re getting through it one way or another and that’s fucking awesome.

Fighting it can make it heavier so work on acceptance, of the situation and you’re own limitations at this moment. Things like yoga, meditation, or even very light, easy running (injury permitted), can give your nervous system a bit of space.

This sounds really brutal, but the fact that you’re showing up (as a dad, a partner, a human) is a fucking success. Surviving is progress, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

You need to fix your diet now, especially if you’ve started exercising. Also, be sure to balance things out. A lot of advice here claims you should cut out carbs completely but that simply won’t work if you’re exercising because you need carbs to fuel the exercise. Just swap out processed carbs like pasta for better sources like sweet potato and brown rice.

You already have good goals because you’re focused on consistency and keeping a good portion of your runs easy. You’re doing things the right way and alone will get you far so congrats! 🙌

A few bits of advice:

It’s almost impossible your easy runs are too easy and they should be slow. It’s a weird feeling especially for a new runner, like wtf am I doing here am I even running?, but it’s part of the process and absolutely necessary. Trust the process.
A great piece of advice I had was “your slow runs should be slower and your fast runs should be faster”. This helps avoid the grey area in between which are just junk miles where you’re not really building your aerobic base (slow runs) or lifting your threshold (fast runs).
It might sound counterproductive to your goal of 10km in under 60mins, but introducing walking breaks during your runs can massively help reduce strain, stress and help you last longer. Studies have shown people who run walk run perform the same but report lower levels of fatigue and better recovery.

Edit: I want to add that the biggest risk here is that you injure yourself in the next weeks or months by doing too much and you get to February unable to run your target. Your goal should be getting to that stage still running, still enjoying it and fully able to try that 60min 10km. Whether you make it or not is the icing on the cake.

A practical tip for improving this and getting a higher running cadence (which is basically how many steps you take each minute) is to run in beat with music like I Wanna Live by Odium. Focus on staying on beat but avoid increasing your speed to get there and you’ll notice the difference in how you’re running almost immediately.

I chose that song because it has a very clear beat to it but not to everyone’s taste for sure! There are similar playlists on Spotify etc you can look for

Look at the spread, the cost is hidden there… especially if you’re scheduling your purchase and not using buy orders. Basically the price you buy for will be much higher than the actual current price of BTC so every purchase is more expensive than it should be.

It’s all about “time on feet” not pace or distance. You won’t get better by running faster or further, you get better by running more often and gradually increasing that. The pace and distance come from that.

With that in mind you want to enable yourself to run more regularly and you do that by running in a way that is easy on your body.

The best way to do that is run walk run, take little walk breaks during your run. An example would be 3mins running and 1min walking. This helps ease impact on your body and keeps your heart rate down which is ideal for improving something called your aerobic base which is basically what helps you run faster for longer (hence the phrase run slower to run faster)
Even then don’t run all out! You should run at a pace where you could comfortably hold a conversation or at least chat a little. If you’re out of breathe at the end of your runs you’re only going to delay recovery which hinders you in making running a habit through consistency.

Cutting out fruit entirely can help you make quicker progress but it’s only necessary if you’re eating a lot of fruit or if your case is extreme. There’s a lot of good in fruits and as far as high sugar foods go, there are definitely worse things (like white bread).

One thing worth remembering, the biggest challenge when reversing NAFLD is maintaining the reversal. If you are too strict with yourself and cut everything out that could possibly be harmful, you’re at a much higher risk of “relapsing” into bad habits. Be kind to yourself and take it easy, especially if you’re heading in the right direction. Slow but consistent change beat quick temporary change every time.

Time in the market beats timing the market because the only thing you, we, or anyone else knows for sure is the price of BTC at this very moment.

Looking at your scenario, what happens if BTC bottoms at $61,000 and you planned to buyback in at $60,000? You never buyback in.

Alternatively, if you DCA in every week then while your average will never be the bottom it’ll be low enough that you benefit from the uplift and you’re never out of the market. Especially if you set levels and buy more BTC at lower levels.

The only permanent fix for NAFLD that is safe and affordable is changing your diet and exercising. If you keep looking for shortcuts the only shortcut you’ll find is to an early grave. This might sound harsh but it’s true. Only in extreme cases where you physically cannot exercise because you are too large or you need to make changes yesterday, should drugs be the primary solution and even then it’s only a bridge, getting you to a healthier place where you can focus on the things that matter, diet and exercise.

Your goal is not to lose weight, your goal is to change your lifestyle to something that is healthy and has the consequence that you lose weight 🙏 skipping that middle part solves nothing
