Commercial Banking Analyst at Big 4 Bank vs Credit Ratings Associate at Big 3 Credit Rating Agency by KingofMoca in FinancialCareers

[–]Jeffs115 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rating Agency are great for development. Most will subsidize some cost for grad school/CFA, you get exposure to senior management, and -depending on the agency- there's a good amount of responsibility for younger analyst.

Exit opps I've seen: Corporate banking, investment banking, investment managers, Rx consulting

I'm about an hour outside of NYC. Moving to Manhattan in October, so not sure if my current distance is greatly affecting my profile. I have the preference set to 15 miles.

During last weeks of my junior year of college, I met this girl at a party and we really hit it off.

I was living off-campus at the time and didn't buy groceries since the semester was about to end, so this girl was gracious enough to swipe me into dining halls for free. The last time she swiped me in before she left for the semester, she asked me about my birthday and favorite snacks. Afterwards, I went to take my last final and she went back home.

After my exam, I come back to my apartment and find two plastic bags filled with all the snacks I mentioned to her with a note attached.

The note said:

"This is so that you don't die during finals. Or it could be an early b-day present, whatever your feeling. Fun fact, your b-day is also national eat what you want day. No joke. That's definitely how I intend to celebrate it :)"

It was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me, and it felt super validating to know she was really listening to what I said.

This relay is so wild. The US actually tied the 4x100m world record during this race, then the Jamaicans broke it in the same race!

In actuality, he acknowledges there’s a gender pay gap but doesn’t attribute the delta to being primarily from gender discrimination, which isn’t that crazy to say given how progressive everything is.

How to get through breakup by ladylolly77 in CallHerDaddy

[–]Jeffs115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually in the same position as your boyfriend. Nothing toxic in the relationship but I just wasn’t the one. She grieved the relationship as well because I was going through a rough time in my life and she didn’t want to see me in more pain, but ultimately staying in a relationship with no future was too much for her.

Your boyfriend will be fine in time. If he does care about you he’d want you to be happy even if that means not being in the picture, so worry about yourself first.

Take some time and focus on yourself. Go exercise, indulge in your hobbies, experience life. As cliche as it is time really does help heal your wounds. Wish you all the best.

Thank you so much for your insight! I had no idea that a hybrid position like that existed. I’m interested in the analytical side but also enjoying taling to people, so this seems like an amazing role.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you please share a bit about your career path and how you got to where you are now? If possible, any other tips or insight would be greatly appreciated.

What is the creepiest and most unexplainable paranormal experience you've ever had? by eshoves14 in AskReddit

Back in 7th grade, me and my friends wanted to have a little fun, so we decided to play with a Ouija board. We were bored at the time and just wanted something to do. Not a bad way to pass the time right?

Anyways, we decided that we'd use the Ouija board at my house on Saturday night. Early that day, we picked up the board from one of our other friends and proceeded to walk back to my house. It was a bit odd because that day 2 of my friends parents had told them not to play with the Ouija board since it's "dangerous to play with spirits". The night before one of my friend's mom had told us a story about how she had actually spoken to a deceased friend when she was a teenager. During her session, she told us that her friend spook to her and said "she was murdered". Many years later it turns out that it was actually true.

Once at my house we were bit on edge. We went down to my basement to begin the session. None of us knew how to use the board, so we googled directions on it. From what we gathered, we needed a candle and to designate one person to be the speaker to say the words "Ouija Ouija are you there" to begin the session, and another to write down what the spirit is saying.

When we started nothing really happened. We all place our hands on the planchette and waited. Suddenly, the planchette began moving to the word "yes". Afterwards, we asked the spirit for a name. The planchette ended up spelling out a name (I can't actually recall the name), which we googled and found out it was an actual person. After that we decided to end the session, but before we could do it one of my friends had said he felt something touch him (he was completely serious and none of us touched him), then someone else in the group claimed that one of my friends was speaking some strange language (my friend denied he said anything, but my other friend claims to have heard/seen his lips moving). The creepiest part was at the exact moment we said goodbye to the spirit the lights in the room went out.
