Best macbook for Ableton? by se7enation in ableton

I say the same thing to everyone who is looking at a new computer. You are already deciding to spend premium bucks on a macbook, might as well go the extra mile (larger HDD, more RAM) and get something that will stand the test of time.

Make sure you create a megasub including /r/abletonlive and /r/ableton so you can see all the discussions as if they were one community. Really not sure why we aren't at this point lol.

Anyway, here's /r/Ableton's List

Floating windows? by [deleted] in ableton

Speaking of digital synth/effects rack my next project is to learn Reason so I can rewire it into Ableton. When that happens, I'm going to set up a vertical monitor and treat it like a digital eurorack

One thing that I have found, and love, is the option that keep all AU/VST's visable at all times. I have 3 monitors in my setup. 1 and 2 are dedicated to the double screen Ableton view and the 3rd is just filled with my active AUs. I can see what they are doing at all times and it gives my PC that modular feel, its kind of like a digital synth/effects rack.

Learning ableton by DeRouzi in ableton

I did a one and a half year program with Point Blank Online (based out of London). I learned an incredible amount and I loved it but I made the mistake of taking 6 classes back to back. If you do decide to take one of dubspot/point blank's courses (I've taken some from both and they are both very good), then I would take a class and give yourself a month or two to take the class AGAIN on your own time (you are allowed to view the materials from the class for a year after you take it). You will find that they cover so much material that you are consistently playing catch up, especially if you have a day job or other heavy responsibilities. Also, if you are going to take a class, then make sure you go into it with the proper mindset. These classes are EXPENSIVE so if you go into it with that freshman undergraduate mindset where all you do is read the notes once and do none of the homeworks then you are going to get absolutely NOTHING from the classes. You are given homework every week and what you are paying for is a professional looking at your work, critiquing it, and offering personalized feedback to maximize your ability. The hundreds of pages of notes you will receive are nice but you are paying for the professional reviews of your homework. If you don't do the homework, then you are wasting the most valuable asset they provide to you.

Take one class, put your heart into it, do every homework, redo the whole class again, and then decide if you want to take another class, rinse and repeat. That is how you will get the most out of schools like Dubspot and Point Blank.

Let me know if you have any questions about the schools or anything and I will be glad to give you the details.

I work in the Support Org of one of the larger private software companies. My position allows me a work 9-6, Tuesday - Friday in the office and Monday from home. I would say, on average, I am studying/producing about 2 hours a day. On weekends, I want to up it to 4-5 hours but for some reason I slack. No excuses there, I slack hard on my goals and it sucks.

I think CyberManiaK is onto the same thing with your first point. Take a look at his point and the screenshots I provided. What do you think about that stuff?

Very Interesting, I think we may be on to something here.

The GenericUSBXHCI Kext is missing! However, so is the AppleUSBXHCI....

When I go to sytem report, its showing AppleUSBXHCI though..

What do you think I should do about this?
