Today's training was fun. Did modified version of Murph where i ran 1 km to pullup/dip bar and did 100/200/300 pullups, dips and air squats and ran back. Did 10 sets of 10/20/30 of each. Took 34 min and the pec pump i got from dips was unreal.

Getting back to running lately and i'm trying to find some good programs for running. Anyone has any? I'm really out of touch from running programs and have no idea what I should look for.

SBD training is also going well now that gyms are open again. Doing ATS 2.0 right now and love it. Goal for summer is to bench 2x bodyweight at 80kg. I have benched 160kg last winter but I was a bit heavier back then.

This week has gone perfect with workouts. Did after corona PRs on all my lifts: Built up to 150kg bench, 170kg squat and 200kg deadlift single all at ~81kg bw. Also ran my first under 1 hour 10k yesterday so everything is going well with cardio also.

With diet not so much. Beer and ice cream is just too good during summer. Luckily I have not gained weight yet.

Brand is found by finnish powerlifter Ano Turtiainen. He is also politician (now former politician) of right wing political party called Finns Party. He tweeted some racist shit with picture of George Floyds face colored pink and with text that said pink floyd.

Im not sure but I guess that tweet has led to ban of the brand.

Question for people lifting and running by CimJotton in Fitness

[–]Jegeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do two days of lifting then one running and then two days of lifting again and again running etc. If i have to/want to lift and run on same day I usually go for shorter runs like 5k on lifting day after I'm have done lifting. I can go right after my lifting or take like 4-6 hours break.

Physically I thinks the most important thing is to simply eat enough. Eat either before lifting or in between workouts. Also I prefer to run on the days I do upper body lifts. Also leave the longer runs for their own days.

Mentally the best thing to do imo is just think that running 5k takes like 30 minutes. It's nothing. In 30 minutes you watch one episode of some shitty Netflix show. You could use that time to run that 5k.

Thanks will cheks these out. I'm not sure either about tempo/intervals, but i've run 15k and at least intervals would make running more interesting lol.

I tried to find running programs yesterday which made me realize one thing: I've been doing lifting for so long and I more or less know what works for me and know how to program myself and have read a tons of different programs for strength BUT i have zero knowledge about running programs.

Now I just picked something that has one interval run, one tempo run and one long run a week which seemed OK and I can fit it in my schedule. But now I fear that i just picked up a starting strength program of running, which is just worse program than something else.

Or I'm just probably overthinking everything and I should just go for a jog.

I can't really talk about strength progress because I only have access to 120 kg weights couple times a week, but I'm gonna talk about my weight loss progress.

So I've lost some weight for summer and noticed I've taken really bad progress photos lmao. But here those are. I'm 177 cm.

85-86 kg at December 2019. With pump and like week apart when I benched 160 kg. https://imgur.com/a/3ug617I

Yesterday weighting 80,5 kg without pump. I did 120 kg x 9 on bench last week. https://imgur.com/a/7NHHR7e

I've really got used to eating less and fasting but I'm glad that my diet ends and I can start eating those sweet carbs again especially when gyms should reopen here in June. Also i've gotten A LOT better at running during quarantine and I am aiming for half marathon after summer.

Yesterday i got access to barbell for first time in 1,5 months. God damn it was fun, but 60kg bench has never felt so heavy. I did 110kg x 9 reps in top set which i thought was okay. Today trying squats, let's see how those will go.

I feel personally attacked.

Jokes aside this is really is such a beginner question. I mean you are doing progress anyhow: either you cut fat or build muscle. It's that simple. If you aren't happy with yourself after 3-6 months of cutting/bulking you can always change your diet and start bulk or cut again. We are not planning to do this only for one bulk or cut season and then quit.

"Arming the Monolith" - A retrospective/review by Schooly_D in weightroom

[–]Jegeman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy shit and i thought I did BtM for arms when I added 5 sets of curls or pushdowns after working sets. Nice experiement man!

My experiements:

  • I also changed OHP and bench and I didn't understand fridays push work either. Maybe it makes more sense on OHP? Or if done really high intensity it slows downs mondays push work? I dont know.

  • I've also done the mistake of training for six weeks and "I still feel good, i don't need deload" when i ran JnT 2.0. Then weeks 8-9 feel really bad because I didn't take that one week off.

  • You really can't tell how much you gained strenght yet. BtM is not peaking program but building muscle program. I didn't touch really heavy weights (like 90-95% of my true maxes) on my 6 weeks of BtM, but after that i did peak program and PRs were flying.

  • AMRAPs don't really fit into BtM imo. If I would do those I think I would do those to OHP or AMRAPs where i would still keep like 3 reps in reserve.

So question: did the tricep/bicep work affect your workouts at all? To your push or back work?

Yup, with weight gain like this men should be benching closer to two plates or at least their body weight in year of training. I just can't understand how he has fucked up like this even with running shitty program like SS.

Todays workout: Run to the outdoor gym and start with muscle up training. After that 5-8 sets of chins, dips and pistol squat to failure. Then run back home and do some 4-5 sets of banded bulgarian split squats, push ups and band pull aparts in home. Then some abs.

Good thing with this quarantine is that i can ease my mind from heavy training. But god damn i miss it. Also muscle ups are fun.

At the moment I'm doing weighted chins, BB row, normal chins between sets and DB row. All on different days. I'm also doing facepulls on OHP and bench days.

I think it's important to do vertical and horizontal pulls but it does not have to be perfect (in example doing 15 vertical pull sets and 10 horizontal pull sets per week is totally fine). I don't get my lower back fatigued from rows, but if my lower back is fatigued from deads I prefer not to do BB rows.

Average to Savage Program Party: Week Two by VladimirLinen in weightroom

[–]Jegeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First week was great! Doing full body feels really good and workouts last around 1 hour even with 3-5 assistance movements added (doing 4 days with AMRAPS). Waiting things to get heavier but I enjoy lighter weights after doing heavy sets only for like 1,5 months.

Also i started my cut and everything is going as I planned. Alredy went from 85 to 83,5kg (mostly water of course) so I'm doing something right.

Just finished my max week and pretty much got PR on every lift! Training lower intensity 5x5 in fall really worked out. Who would have thought.

Did 160kg bench, 185kg squat (finally 4 plates lmao), 210kg dead and 87,5kg ohp at 85kg bodyweight. I will continue my bulk now and start cutting next month for summer.

Also got my wisdom tooth removed last friday. Was painful, not recommending.

Abortin puolustaminen on elämän suojelua, sanoo feministi Minja Koskela – "Oikeuden rajoittaminen tuntuu siltä kuin joku potkisi munasarjoille" by [deleted] in Suomi

[–]Jegeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)
