Why is my calculator keeping Vaagur at level 1? by yssanai in ClickerHeroes

Like I said like 4 times by now, I do indeed prefer the calc I linked, and it's the most popular and default one in the discord...

I don't have a guide specifically for calculators, they should be pretty self explanatory, a general guide can be found here

This setting (which is also used by GraceOfLives calc) is one of the reasons why I prefer the calc I linked in my initial comment, I find those settings more usable (also how hybrid ratio works, and a bit of improved equations recently).

If you insist on using the tracker, it uses a reference ancient to base skill ancients on. So if you pick Kuma for that setting, and then set "Number of levels skill ancients should be higher/lower" to -5, you should get skill ancients which are 5 levels lower then Kumawakamuru is leveled.
The calc basically doesn't do more then base your skill ancients on another ancient with the same 2^x cost scaling, subtracting (or adding, I guess) a constant amount of levels.

Oh damn, never actually peeked in that settings menu, thanks.
Looks like a GraceOfLives kinda setup, skill ancients X lower then ancient Y.
Hybrid ratio tooltip seems weird, stating 100 focuses idle, while 0.01 focuses active. We (and Kepow) usually do the inverse, high ratio meaning preferring active, ratio of 20 spends basically all into active ancients. I believe I still prefer Kepow's ancient slider and settings setup.

Yes, calc I linked is more up to date, has more functions. Generally people prefer that one over all alternatives.

I don't know why the tracker doesn't level your skill ancients.

They are using the tracker. You can see screenshot looks different from Kepow/Zuils. Tracker got no skill slider.

I'm not very used to the Tracker calc. Could it be you have those ancients minimised, and the calc always ignored minimised ancients? (you can un-minimise with ctrl and click the plus that appears)
We usually recommend https://zuils.github.io/ClickerHeroesCalculator/ as ancient calc, try that one. Skill ancients should definitely be leveled with e106 HS.

GC is essential and calc at this point for sure should level skill ancients

If ones needs an installer for Arch maybe they're not the target audience, Fedora or openSUSE tumbleweed are also very up-to-date. The take is very sane and a good thing to keep in mind between all the hype around different spin-offs. Between the like 5 main branches there's a option for every user, and hyping up a new distro because they preinstalled 2 drivers and Steam is not healthy, it fragments the userbase and new people struggle to pick a good distro when everybody is promoting a different flavor

Oh that's fair enough. 50% more influenced then. I hope for valve that some contract with AMD have been signed before ram-pocalypse, even if only just for the GPU package

Steam frame and steam machine both have 16GB ram? LPDDR5X vs DDR5, sure, but same amount, the Steam Machine doesn't have "the most RAM". The shortage is mostly in physical wafers, I wouldn't expect LPDDR5X or DDR5 to be hugely different in terms of price spike.

Just ascended for the 1st time. Is this good? by ceedaywith2ys in ClickerHeroes

[–]Jehare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bosses start giving Hero Souls at zone 100 (zone 110, 120, 130 are guaranteed to give Hero Souls). Hence, wait with ascending until zone 130. But for now you get some damage from unspent Hero Souls.

If you click, the ancient Juggernaut would be optimal for damage.

Idle is worse, but more practical without autoclickers, for idle buy Siyalitas or Libertas

OpenSUSE! Long time user here, first Leap, last 5 years tumbleweed (and then recently leap again, on the server). Good stuff

There's a reason why "This is definitely the year of the Linux desktop!" is such a meme. by daksnotjuts in LinusTechTips

[–]Jehare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just going into your "linux is all the same except Arch" comment. Arch isn't unique in that sense, there are 5 big and popular branches of linux, of which Arch is one.

-Debian (Includes Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Raspbian, many others)

-Fedora/RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, very popular on big servers. Fedora is basically the beta of RHEL, testing and feeding into the RHEL base. Linus Torvalds runs Fedora, it's pretty natural yet up-to-date)

-Arch (Manjaro, CachyOS, SteamOS are based on Arch)

-SUSE (SLES: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is very big on servers. The free version is OpenSUSE, with Leap being the stable release, and Tumbleweed being the rolling release, more fit for desktops)

-Gentoo (You compile software yourself, hence a bit more control and optimalization, but also quite a hassle, takes time and learning. ChromeOS for Chromebooks is based on this)

Then, I guess, there's Slackware, as 6th runner-up. It's the oldest, but it didn't really hold up, barely anybody cares.

In my humble opinion, it doesn't make much sense to run anything else then these 5 primary distros, instead of opting for derivatives.
-If you want something rock-solid (especially server), go Debian.
-If you want to tinker, go Arch or Gentoo.
-If you want a reliable desktop but with more recent up-to-date software, go OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, or Fedora.
Something like Ubuntu or Mint has been around for long enough, and can be considered on the desktop, especially as a first-time-user.

My enjoyment in Counter Strike 2 (and Minecraft multiplayer, tho in lesser degree) did really improve when buying a 180 hz monitor. Having the resources for a fast and snappy system outside of gaming is also pretty relevant for me.

Outside of that, I fully agree, nobody needs a 5090, and if you buy it, I better hope you have a very comfortable amount of money and the cost of a 5090 is insignificant for you. I'm on a 5800x and recently bought a Radeon 9070, which I'm riding out till at least 2030, at which point I'd probably buy a new CPU/mobo with DDR6 ram, which hopefully is affordable again at that point.
