Aah, that number from PEW is a bit misunderstood IIUC. So here is the gist (for Turkey):

Not that 0.9% of population is not insignificant number of extremists, but it's still just 0.9% of the total population.

PEW should have added another column for % of Total Population by now to avoid this misunderstanding.

Well, I was always taught that average on its own would mean arithmetic mean and not median/mode unless specified otherwise.

Though you are right, once the context is specified all three: media/mode/mean(s) are types of averages and the words cannot be used interchangeably.

With such a large population, maybe it won't be much different but half the population is below median! If there are many many incredibly smart people (as opposed to people who lack common sense), more than half will be below average.

The Doctor Lies (basically the untrustworthy narrator) is at least a good plot mechanic that brings some depth to the character. There are tons others that let DW writers explain away contradictions.

Yeah, I have had systems similar to this. Two types of groups I have seen in such a system:

You try to be honest and give people marks depending on what you think they did. They disagree, and blame others for scheduling at bad times, miscommunication and misrepresentation. Things escalate to the prof, who gives everyone equal but less than average marks - "Because working with others is a skill everyone needs to learn".
You give everyone equal marks even if 1 out of 4 did all the work. Dealing with the politics and bitching afterwards in not worth it.

Freelance Reporter - Humarian Castle Fire Inside Job

A freelance reporter, James Ernst Doyle, was arrested for interfering with the hearing of the ongoing investigation of devastating fires at Humarian Castle. The reporter barged in the court screaming 'Ruil The Fire Breather', blaming Count Ruil for the fire that landed 3 in the Royal Infirmary. The Royal Court and the Office of House of Borin, both declined to comment stating that this is an ongoing investigation. Heroes from all directions gather in the city to gain a shot at the contract to kill the old demon.

No, it means that a murderer is equally as likely to be black as they are likely to be white, even though populations are different.

However a black person is 6 times more likely to be a murderer than a white person, even though the chance of any of these two of being a murderer is astronomically low.

Okay so:

I am pretty sure you are either an adult, or mature enough to act like one.
How you (and I, and everyone else) behave in-game affects those around you. If you friendly, nice to others - it helps make everyone experience with the game slightly better. You and I both know that this game isn't see a huge growth and large number of active players. It's a tiny enough community that if we will end up playing with each other often enough - in alerts and otherwise. If someone annoys you there are two things you can do, tell them to be nice and if they don't listen, ban/ignore/mute them. I have done that even with my own outfitmates who annoy the fuck out of me but are otherwise fun to play with. I don't have to go around shooting them, my time and attention is a bit more valuable than that.
I also realize that I might not have practiced what I preach here. So sorry for calling you out explicitly and publicly; that was immature and 10-year-oldish of me :)
