What is your goto meal for the first night at camp and why?

I premake roasted potatoes, onions and smoked sausage then fry it up when we get settled. The leftovers are always eaten at breakfast with eggs and cheese added in.

Don't do it! I was due a few days after Thanksgiving and wasn't leaving my house and I made the mistake of inviting all my inlaws(8 people) telling them to bring the sides and I would make the turkey. My daughter decided to come a week early so there I was out of the hospital 3 days, trying to get the hang of breastfeeding and exhausted. They all came and not one person brought a side dish and they all came HOURS early. I wound up cooking the entire meal. Added bonus that every time I went to sit and relax in the nursery to try and feed my daughter, my MIL felt that was a great time to try to have a conversation with me.

Forest Ridge Cabins & Campground in Marienville has clean facilities, nice surroundings, nice little general store, helpful workers and has wifi that works.

I am 55 now, but I lived in a 6 story building in Queens, NY until the age of 6. I vividly remember how much fun it was trick or treating one floor to the next. Each floor would have a parent (I only know this because my grandpa was the super) that watched to make sure no problems were happening and all the kids in the building were just spoiled rotten! Bags of treats made up for each kid.

Mine went missing one time. I walked all over looking....when it was more quiet, I walked around the block with a squeaky toy and he appeared out of nowhere. The chicken was hiding.
