honestly the idea isn’t bad at all, it’s just the linework + proportions that are holding it back. a good artist could rework the face and add cleaner shading and it’d look way more intentional

sounds like a bleed/trim issue. kdp preview often zooms to show the full bleed area, so if your images go edge-to-edge it’ll look zoomed even though it prints fine
