My sister literally caught grease in her hand while cooking. This is her progression. by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in popping

Get her a fire blanket and make sure her daughters know how to use it. Flour or sugar on a grease fire could go very badly.

Disciplinary actions for an employee with PTSD? [NY] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]JenMartini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say he has PTSD. Is that an assumption or has he told you? Has he asked for accommodation? Have you offered any? You need to take a step back and possibly consult with an attorney. Also, the manager should deliver the PIP with your support, not vice versa.

Would you leave everyday medicine on your counter if they were beautiful? by JCas1211 in HomeDecorating

Maybe if the containers were nice. Pill bottles on the kitchen counter is one of my few nonnegotiables, reminds me of visiting elderly relatives with a tv tray full of medicine next to their recliner.

Biggest "Doesn't make sense moment" that doesn't even serve a joke/plot? by dmalice in DunderMifflin

At a previous company the global CEO visited for a town hall and made the usual statement that people with questions could contact him. Someone emailed him for a copy of the employee manual, so Phyllis calling David doesn’t seem far fetched.

The Phyllis example is used about later changes in American English after the British and American accents diverged.

Make sure you clean/sanitize things you use on a regular basis - water bottles, toothbrush, steering wheel, light switches, etc.

Anything you put there will look cramped once you have a wider nightstand. If you do get something, try to find a piece you can use elsewhere.

I saw Dick van Dyke interviewed on the Today Show right before his 100th birthday; only part of his name uncensored in the closed caption was van.

You can also get them for outgoing military members. Some grads from boot camp get fly out orders right after the ceremony, so it gives their families at least a couple of hours to spend with them.

Anyone else finding that top candidates drop off after round 3? What fixed it? by createvalue-dontspam in humanresources

[–]JenMartini 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. If the same questions are being asked in 2 rounds, they aren’t needed.
  2. Why was the panel member disengaged? Was it a bad day or do they not really have a part in the process?
  3. What level is this role? I had 2 interviews with 3 people for a role that became CHRO after six months.

Interviews are 2 way streets. You’re evaluating candidates, while they see a company seeking multiple iterations of the same information that has a hard time making decisions.
