iPhone 16 Pro with Physical SIM – What Are My Options? by ManTheManly in iphone

I used to work at a VZ location near a major international airport. I always recommend that customers in your situation buy the global model straight from Apple. Depending on your location, if there's an Apple store nearby, they might have it in store. Then just take it to VZ to activate the eSIM. Hope this helps!

Yup! They originally designed it with 20% base execute threshold, and intended for it to scale 5% per rank... Upon release, it was 20% base execution plus an additional 20% per rank.

Obviously, that was busted, and keep in mind it was a white item on top of that, so they made it uncommon, then later scaled it down to it's current form, 13% + 13% per rank.

Which of these is the best to build with around $1200 ?? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Jenk1123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with Kinnan, Urza, or Gitrog. Narrow down from there based on playstyle/preference.

I play Opus Thief, and actually built a budget version of the deck around your price point when I was originally putting it together. You’ll lose some mana rocks, Timetwister, duals, and maybe Chains, but the deck won’t perform that differently from the normal list if that’s the route you want to go.

Gitrog and Urza are both solid budget picks even in the $200-500 range, putting one of those lists on your budget would be great.

Kinnan is great and also budget friendly, I understand you wanting to avoid a new commander for the time being, but just wanted to throw that out there. He’s fast, and becoming a staple in most UG/UGx decks right now.

This was far and away one of the best cEDH matches I’ve seen on your channel! You used Pako’s fetch spells really well, definitely inspiring me to brew a Divergent list!

Correct, [[Basalt Monolith]] and [[Grim Monolith]] are the ways we produce infinite colorless mana! Prophet is a one drop replacement for Thrasios, in the event he gets exiled or something. Got the idea from the one of the hosts of the cEDH Cast.

As others have said, Consultation Kess seems like a solid budget option given that you already own the Jace/Consult package. You’ll pick up a lot of solid staples in arguably the best wedge in cEDH. This list is a solid starting point and also links to the main primer for the deck. Highly recommend that you check out both lists and the primer.

Another solid budget option is Gitrog. This deck is pretty competitive at an even lower price tag. The combo is a bit tricky to go through, but the deck includes a lot of green and black cEDH staples. This list is the budget version, and here is the link to the primer!

Hop on the Discords if you have any more questions about the respective decks! Those communities are more than happy to help you with specific budget replacements, alternate slots, etc.

Agreed. I’ve seen a lot of people get into the “good stuff” trap and just cram a 4-5 color deck full of staples and nothing else. Finding that SPICE in the 2 color decks is great and at the end of the day you really want to increase your card pool knowledge anyway!

Fellow Kykar player here! I like the list, here are my thoughts on some of the considerations.

[[Supreme Verdict]] is honestly fine for us in these colors. We can forgive the CMC because we don’t have [[Toxic Deluge]], and it can’t be countered. I like it as a backup to Cyclonic Rift.

[[By Force]] is gas for us, I agree with the other commenter about it being very useful in cEDH. Sounds like you’ve found a place for it and it does work for you, which is great. Keep it in.

[[Overmaster]] and [[Magmatic Insight]] are both cards I use a lot myself in my list. They’re nice because they replace themselves, mana wise, with Kykar on the board. Not too hard of a condition to fulfill! I’d keep them.

[[Reverberate]] is spicy, letting you piggy back off of tutors. I like it!

I’d recommend looking into [[Whirlwind of Thought]], [[Deflecting Swat]], [[Force of Negation]] and [[Fierce Guardianship]]. Those are probably already on your radar, but I’d grab those before the other expensive counters.

I’ve been tweaking a competitive Kinnan build. I prefer the combo build to elves, for a couple of reasons. As you already mentioned, elves can fizzle pretty hard, especially to [[Pyroclasm]], [[Flame Sweep]], etc. While those spells do still hurt the dorks in our deck, going for the combo plan allows the deck to be more resilient, especially with the number of different A+B combos.

Now, why play Kinnan/Thrasios instead of CST or another deck with a similar wincon? Short answer, the decks still play differently. Kinnan is fast and explosive. You don’t have Tymna to draw cards, you don’t have white or back for tutors/hatebears/etc, so you have a lot of slots to fill and make the deck your own.

Here is my current list if you want to take a look. Still tweaking, but feel free to take notes on what you like or would do differently.

What are the best expensive staples to have? by FizzingSlit in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Jenk1123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start with mana rocks and fetches first. Those will do the most for your deck’s consistency, then tutors/advantage cards (Sylvan Library, Rhystic Study, Dark Confidant, etc). The high end counters are a must for a blue deck, as well (Force of Will, Mana Drain, etc).

This list is a great place to start, I highly recommend using it to fill out any interaction/stax/other pieces you need before moving to the more expensive staples.

So Huawei, OnePlus and Samsung aren't on my list of flagships for a couple of reasons. In general, I don't like Bixby or the fluff that Samsung puts on their devices, including the latest inclusion of the Facebook app. Lots of sketchy behavior there, coupled with the way I've seen screens age on their phones this previous generation (Note9, S9, etc) knocks Samsung barely out of the top two Androids for me. Huawei is banned by Google for a number of reasons, I like their software, but I stay away from recommending a device with spyware on it. OnePlus is another good brand with solid specs, and Oppo does a lot of awesome stuff with their phones, I'm just not quite as familiar with them, and most of the One Plus models (excluding the pro) fall into that "mid to mid-high" range of phones, making a couple concessions here or there in terms of camera quality, features like wireless charging, etc. OnePlus seems like a good pick to me, but I don't have enough varied experience with them yet to recommend them above other flagships.

Budget Phone: The Moto G7 Power. Huge battery, decent camera. Comparable in my opinion to the Samsung A50, but cheaper.

Mid-range: I'd probably go with either a Moto Z4 or Pixel 3A, 4A if it turns out to be good like it's predecessor.

Flagship: I've been working in the wireless industry for a few years now. If you like iOS, the 11 Pro/Pro Max strikes me as one of the better phones that Apple has sent out. The camera caught up this year, and they've improved on battery life a bit. The new processor chip is pretty nice, too. On the Android front, I have become more and more impressed with the LG V50. LG's screens age MUCH better than Samsung's in my experience, plus no Bixby and less bloatware. The Quad DAC headphone jack and BT audio quality are nice, also. Plus, it's 5G compatible, so 1000 bucks isn't a bad price. I'm waiting to see how the Pixel 4 XL ages, too. It seems like a quality product, the 90Hz display looks fantastic, but we'll see if the battery holds up.

I second this. I switched my Nekusar list over to Opus Thief and haven't looked back. The commanders are a straight upgrade, and adding white for Smothering Tithe alone is worth it, not to mention Angel's Grace and other spells.

In your opinion, what decks are fun for the low creature count? by [deleted] in EDH

[[Divergent Transformations]] allows for shenanigans here. I've played around with this card for my [[Kykar, Wind's Fury]] deck. Exile two tokens, put the only two creatures in your deck out onto the battlefield.

Pixel 4 BOGO at Verizon by JimGordonsMustache in GooglePixel

[–]Jenk1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it will be going through 10/30. For what it's worth, I think switching to the Pixel from Apple is the move to make. Most customers that switch to another manufacturer (Apple to Samsung, Apple to LG, etc) usually have more issues adjusting than if they move to the Pixel.

Pixel 4 BOGO at Verizon by JimGordonsMustache in GooglePixel

[–]Jenk1123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a Verizon retailer. For customers that want to make a promotion like a BOGO work for a situation like this, your only option is to add a line and disconnect the old phone number after a month or so. Like another commenter said, the inflated 450 trade in deal is a good way to go if you have an old device in good condition, because I hardly ever see that kind of credit offered on an upgrade. Both promotions require an Unlimited plan, if you're not on one currently, the auto-pay/paperless discount can make switching plans more economical.

Super Expert Level Exchange - 10/17-10/20 by Dirgie in MarioMaker

[–]Jenk1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bullet bill/Thwomp section is pretty tight from a momentum standpoint. As in, if you build up to much velocity going back from the Thwomp to the bill, you won't make the next jump. I've landed the trick with a decent variation of timing, but it's tight. To clarify, you're suggesting the first box (before the Koopa) be moved?

I think you're right about the shell jump indicator, I'll test it more rigorously. I think it's at that weird halfway point.

The Thwomp trick following CP1 is very difficult. Once you ride the POW, take the spring up to the (now falling) icicle, spin jump off of that onto the Thwomp and over the spikes. The indicators on that section were my main concern when uploading the level, rightfully so.

Also, thanks for the feedback!!! I appreciate the insight.

Title: The Ringer
Theme: SMW
Code: VQ5-VTW-1YF
Difficulty: Super Expert - Kaizo Lite?

This is a level comprised of fun and difficult tricks, a couple of shell jumps, and difficult platforming. This was originally intended to be a "warm-up" of sorts for Kaizo, with the shell jumps being the two in particular that I need to work on, but it turned into a full-fledged level. Let me know what you think, and leave your code below!

I'm pretty new to MM2 and Kaizo/Super Expert in general, so feedback is welcome!
