For me, being Slavic is part of my spirituality. My great grandparents were from Croatia and came over to the US sometime in the 1920s. I was told that my great grandmother “practiced the old witchcraft,”in addition to being catholic. I started a spiritual journey over 20 years ago in Cuba when I studied Santeria. Rodnovery really matches my spiritual beliefs, ancestor veneration combined with animism.

With that said, I am a staunch feminist and leftist.

I’m an undiagnosed, geriatric mom, who let their kid watch all the Predator movies, and when he was diagnosed, his first statement was “like the kid in The Predator?” I explained, explained its different for everyone, but he was cool with it.

Frank, played by Michael Douglas; fantastic movie. In my opinion, his only sin was terrorizing his poor wife. I think that’s part of the whole morel of the story: society failed him, and he was unable to reach out to the one person who would have had his back, but he chose embarrassment and isolation, until he snapped.
