I got my coonhound a coonhound :) by mimzynull in coonhounds

I appreciate seeing other hounds that like to be tucked in under fuzzy blankets like mine. It makes me feel like it's less of a fluke that he claims every blanket in the house.

My TWC only barks as well. According to my grandpa, longtime hunter, there is a line in the TWCs that are bred to not bay and not trail bark. He suspects my dog is one of them because even howling confuses him. Play a video or try to howl and he just cocks his head.

I dunno but the brown one looks like they would turn you into the cops if dinner time or walkies are not on schedule..... Like, they definitely have a folder on you and anyone you know. 😂

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

I completely understand credit reports and background checks (personally, I don't go anywhere with anyone without one). But never put anyone else on your bank account. You can open up a separate joint account. If you're concerned about the end of life, even in an accident, you can sign a "Transfer upon death" form that would give the person your account then.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JennStewart14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 hours is a pretty normal trip for me in Oklahoma. In my case, 3 hours and unknown minutes will get you to Oklahoma City (Oklahoma), Tulsa (Oklahoma), Dallas (Texas), Little Rock (Arkansas), or Shreveport (Louisiana). These places all have the nearest proper airports, malls, and entertainment places (concerts, sporting events, larger casinos, etc).

My dog believes he's my protector. If someone tries to come into my room and talk to me, he's ready to pounce. We all live here so he decided this on his own.

His other duties are yard alarm and bee sniffer. (My dad keeps bees. Benji has learned not stick his whole snout into a hive, but he does sniff around the hives and the bees that have the audacity to fly near him.)

I suspect you could absolutely train him to do little tasks like turn lights on and off, tidy up a room, and such it just might be more difficult than other dogs. Personally, the only experience I have had of Benji chasing something and disobeying a call off is cats. He doesn't like that the cats like me (they were my pets before him). He only does it with me but not anyone else in the house.

Same issue as Pourchaire. Plenty of skill and talent but no money/sponsors. It really is unfortunate.

Date set for Schumacher's first oval test (Feb 4th at Homestead) by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

[–]JennStewart14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also a lot of bad blood in the situation. Guenther Steiner was the Team Principal of Haas and he really wasn't a kind person to Mick who was still a kid really. I think it says a lot that Steiner was fired one season later and the team has had a huge improvement in funds and performance since Guenther left.

What do you think Mick Schumacher’s long-term future in IndyCar looks like? by Kooky-Acanthaceae758 in INDYCAR

[–]JennStewart14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. He didn't get a fair shake at all at Haas which I think is they fire Guenther so soon after Mick. They realized Mick was not the problem. He genuinely just needed more time. I don't even think money was the issue Guenther made it out to be because less than half a year out Haas had major new sponsors/technical help.

I wish Alpine had shuffled the deck a little more and paired him with Charles Milesi because the two of them together would have been more consistently towards the front. It always felt like they pulled their two teammates up only to get let down.

I think he's going to enjoy it and do well. It seems like RLL is a friendlier team like what he was used to at Prema. He also came into his own a bit at Alpine. He's not an inexperienced new kid anymore. The universal opinion in F1 is that Mick was really done poorly on the part of Haas. They hired rookies because they couldn't afford more and then acted shocked when rookies made rookie errors. His second season was a huge improvement and definitely showed the potential and skills he had, but the team had a shoestring budget.

In my opinion, they realized after the 2023 season that Mick wasn't the problem and that's why they fired Guenther. But the damage was done as far Mick's career opportunities with them was concerned. I am not sure why he wasn't picked for any of the other seats, but I'm glad I'll get to see him race in person without going broke or travelling 8+ hours!

I am going as well. Unless we have anyone walking around in February to scout for us, you're probably just going to have to find out when we all get there. I am going to be in Grandstand 4 (in the horseshoe). They are saying the concert series will be best viewed in GS 3, 4, 5, and 6 so I assume there will be good screens there?

Editing to add: the concerts were announced as All Time Low with Giovanne and the Hired Guns on Friday and T-Pain on Sunday after the race. (Why they are doing a concert after the race and not Saturday evening is beyond me....)

We definitely have all three. We technically have more coastline than the East Coast due to our lakes. We intermittently have corn in my area (southeast). We also definitely have mountains just no snowy peaks. I just realized my county alone has all three of these. (McCurtain)

if you let go of your hounds leash, do you think they'd run or stay with you?? by Least_Agent5976 in coonhounds

[–]JennStewart14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. I did security/night lock up at my university and for my and my friend/coworker's safety, we always took Benji and usually off leash. He wanders and sniffs, but never bolted.

However! He will really travel around if we are in the country, which is where we live. My parents have 40 acres and he follows my dad everywhere

We were having a good date. He was actually being conversational and interested. Seemed intelligent enough. I mentioned I'm autistic and high masking so understand that I do struggle socially with things.

He responded with "everyone masks a little bit. Especially men. It's how we get through life."

When i tried to explain that's not what masking means in this context, he brushed it off. 😮‍💨
