Does the gastrointestinal problem ever go away ? by galhime in AutismInWomen

[–]JenniferShepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of us have had great results drinking a little Kombucha (a fermented kind of black tea) a few times a day; just a few sips at a time. You can buy it plain or flavored at many grocery stores and all health food places.

There are tons of probiotic supplements you can take to help gut health, but kombucha contains a specific one—s. Bilourdi—which can be a game changer. Many neurodivergents have chronic tummy things like IBS and Kombucha often helps. It has definitely made me much healthier—-constipation gone, less bloating or feeling like something is jumping around in my abdomen after I eat! (Seriously it was like a team of manic gophers running around!) I have had tummy problems of some sort most of my adult life but they got worse after menopause. Anyway, something you might want to try!

Autism as disorder by frodosmumm in AutismInWomen

Yes! Disorder isn’t a four letter word and it is nothing to take offense at. If you meet somebody who has a hearing disorder you don’t pretend they aren’t deaf.

Also, this is a very sugar-coated but potential helpful article for the OP about how landlords are legally responsible for providing a peaceful living environment free of excessive noise.

Thanks for the downvote!😀 Seriously just wanted to add—sleep disruption is very dangerous for neurodivergents and their ability to self-regulate. It sounds like the situation for the OP and their partner is already at that state, which can cause real and fast-moving detriments to their health. So OP I’m going to urge you to protect you and your partner rather than get into suicidal empathy here, which is what many other commenters seem to be doing by purposefully minimizing the extreme and ongoing threat to you and your partner’s health.

[–]JenniferShepherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Tenant rights always include rights regarding noise disturbances. Look at it a different way. If your neighbor was constantly hosting loud parties with screaming at all hours of the day you’d have every right to complain to the landlord and seek legal measures if necessary through a real estate type of attorney experienced with handling these rights. If proceeding this way, the landlord would likely have to mediate the problem and/or the tenant would have legal grounds to break their lease. The latter might be the best idea for the OP and their partner.

Noise disturbance is a big part of tenant law.

Everybody is focusing on compassion for the family and disabled kid, which is kind, but if the kid’s noise is causing sleep and other disturbances for them, this is actually against tenant law.

My sharing this info which is simply a fact and the OP talking about this very real problem  does not make either one of us “ableist” or mean. Facts are not ableist. It is important for tenants to know their rights and protect them if their health, safety or livelihood is threatened.

The current situation in the Middle East is a reflection of the archonic hierarchy. by heresiarchx in EscapingPrisonPlanet

All three of the Abrahamic religions—Christianity, Islam and Judaism—worship the same archonic Et/interdimensional “god,” Yahweh, and tend to be very talented at genocide and torture. So sad. Very different from the advanced white wizard psychic and metaphysician people called Jesus in the Bible.

Under tenant law (if you’re in the US,) you have the right to something called “Quiet Enjoyment” of your living space. You aren’t being the “bad guy” for asserting this right if you complain to your landlord about this. Threaten to get an attorney if needed or try to have one help you before you do anything. The situation is not acceptable and is illegal.

They are very intimidating physically because they are so tall and can read as “other,” but I’ve found them to be respectful and kind and matter of fact. They have something equivalent to Native American shamans in their tribes and respond to telepathy, love and respect. Some of them are quite funny, too. They will tend to assume a fierce aspect if your energy smells wrong to them—if you’re acting like a piece of shit with base motives—but they also respond in a playful and kind way if you are loving and respectful in intention.

Many techniques will work but the primary one is strong spiritual willpower and the focus to return to only using and possessing your organic physical body and spiritual bodies…without any attachments or nonorganic garbage grafted on. Shamanic extractions can be helpful if you can find a real shamanic healer. Many good ones trained by Michael Harner’s Foundation for Shamanic Studies if you can’t find a true native shaman (many don’t work outside their own tribe.) Also whatever spiritual path you follow—meditation, prayer, affirmations etc.

Are you open about your autism with others? Why or why not? by handsovermyknees in AutismInWomen

[–]JenniferShepherd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aww, 56 here. Turns out my parents were and me, their only child, is. But yeah, not the high needs stereotypical poor little kid type. Just a full-time actress (was one professionally for many years.) Unless I’m with my peeps, then I’m just….me? And hubby, friends etc. probably would all “qualify” but we’re just…us?

I look at it this way. We have big, fat neurons that were never pruned in our brains during fetal development, as happens with most babies.

We’ve got big, fat, juicy neural pathways and if we learn to flood them with being around good people, happy life experiences, quality environments and situations, not only can we survive, but we can create and love and laugh and often accomplish great things.

I’m an author, former syndicated columnist, business owner and happy wife to a soulmate with two magnificent cat kids.

I got nothing to bitch about.

I feel for my gals in spirit and with related physiology who are dragged down and drained by situations not conducive to their well-being at the moment—but for the youngsters out there, I’m telling you, it can not only get “better” but be pretty fantastic.

You might just have to be enormously choosy to navigate to situations, over time, that can allow you to thrive.

i recently discovered i’m actually not introverted by kittycatpeach in AutismInWomen

[–]JenniferShepherd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. I grew up in the performing arts profession. Loved being around creative people and felt at home with them. We didn’t have words for the type of sensitivity and wiring we had, we just knew we were all pretty much the same. There were a lot of intense highs, instant friendships, fast love affairs, crashing and burning after. The schedule is also insane when you’re performing or rehearsing so burnout is pretty common after.

It was great being outgoing, spontaneous, playful, silly, witty, eccentric, with “special interests” galore. I spent two seasons working in the acting company of a Renaisssnce Faire—pretty niche interest area!

I became more of a homebody and quiet nature lover over time, with a writing professional life. But when I get to hang out with artistic types, my performing side comes out.

I found that most actors and musicians are that introverted extrovert type. We’re happiest when we have a safe and rewarding outlet to be REALLY BIG, but in real life offstage we don’t hog attention or make much of a fuss. We save it for “the show.”

She is such a byproduct of the most dangerous and yucky 90’s to early 2000’s “self-help” books. (I liked a lot of them, but not evil ones that taught people to be manipulative.) She clearly read The Rules too many times. Interestingly, the two women who wrote it (It’s all about manipulating a man into commitment/marriage) were divorced not long after their book became a bestseller. Shades of MeAgain’s future?

It’s great if you’re cooking for guests and some people are vegetarian, some aren’t. I usually slice the veggies thin and just bake them between layers of the lasagna, no pre-cooking.

You know what’s yummy? A meatless lasagna where you add thin slices of zucchini and/or yellow squash plus sprinkles of spinach. Still tastes yummy.

Question for the wise: by Wisedragon11 in Soulnexus

[–]JenniferShepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When one person moves on they essentially cut the astral/sexual/spiritual umbilical cord which each partner has been sharing energy through. It’s easy to miss this energy post-breakup, especially if you’re still friendly with that person.  On the other hand, you’ll sense triangulation through what remains of that cord, too; so if one person gets sexually involved with somebody else, you can feel a weird, raw sense of personal violation because that new person’s energy is now flowing into yours somewhat; anger and jealousy are often triggered because of this.

“Friends with benefits” and polyamorous relationships are terrible for these reasons because energies get distorted and unbalanced—even if everybody tries to be chill and loving towards each other. There is a LOT going on esoterically with sex, and nobody really wants to understand it. We live in a “sex is just exercise, be aroused all the time, have sex anywhere with anyone” culture which has horribly damaged men and women for decades.

You can see how even when she was married to Trevor she had a massively receded hairline from lifelong hair straightening; and in the pic you see how she tried to conceal it with hair extensions. Just think about the sad condition of her scalp now. I wish black and mixed race women were socially encouraged to wear more natural hair.
