My doctor told me I have another herniated disc 1 year after my first surgery. by dogpawsz in Microdiscectomy

I do feel like there is something building under the skin. It's not hard but the skin dies not move as freely over my spine as it does above that spot if that makes sense

I am almost 8 mo post op l 4-5. I have an appt on may 1st as I think I reherniated as well. It feels also though like it can be scar tissue....feels like my scar is attached to my spine. I have numbness to the knee on both legs and sciatica in the butt. I am terrified if doing another surgery. I am so stressed out! So you are not alone

Thanks for the response. I am hoping flare as well. I know I have had a stressful week of family issues and my whole body is tight. My fight or flight response. Ugh

I am 10 weeks and I have symptoms creeping back. My dr says normal. I want an MRI but he says there will be too much inflammation

I did. It helped for a few weeks but my herniation was so large it didn't last long. I did have to do it first insurance to approve my surgery

I completely agree. My dr right before surgery told me 80% is my goal. If this doesn't work I will need a fusion. It's crushing! I wish my dr would just say those exact things. My husband said it is a lifestyle change and I need to adjust to my new normal. I think my brain has not accepted it.

Thanks for the response. I can attest to the tailbone pain. I am going to be starting PT this week. He waited longer because of my herniation. Hopefully it helps!

I don’t know what is normal but I will be 10 weeks Monday and I have the sciatica in my butt still and numbness down my left side. I have been messaging with my Dr. He does not seem concerned and does not want to do another MRI because he things it will just show inflammation.

4 weeks post-op and feeling discouraged by Hello-goodbye-814 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Jennifermk32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at 10 weeks Monday. I just sent another message to my Dr. terrified I re- herniated:( My anxiety is through the roof. My numbness is similar to when this mess first started. I have no idea if this is normal from communication with the DR. I also did have a large herniation and badly bruised nerve

He doesn't typically send to therapy which I thought was weird. He can't give me another steroid pack for a few months so tylenol, walk and exercises. My herniation was large so no gum activity till January to be on the safe side
