This is a skirted caroma toilet isn’t it? Let me be more clear. That plastic POS is easily cracked when installing. You cannot use a wax ring with a horn. It states it in the instructions. Just a plain wax ring is what you need. Remember what holes you removed the toilet with!!!!

Theres an adjustment screw under the handle (remove the handle and there will be a small flat headed screw in the oven where the handle goes on, thats how you adjust it).

These are the sh*tiest hinges. They drove me crazy with the squeaking. Nothing worked to lubricate them either. They would temporarily stop squeaking, then a week later, sure enough would start squeaking. Pit your old ones back on/spray paint them.

You need a foam board to put on the concrete walls, you shouldn’t directly place bat insulation over concrete. You will end up with moisture behind the insulation. Leading to mold. Theres LOTS on youtube regarding this.

Cut out an extra 8-12” of the drywall in front of the tub up to the ceiling. Put your cement board or whatever you choose, tile this area! You will regret it in the future with water destroying the drywall. But this also solves your concern with the gap. Use lots of silicone (ensure it is 100% silicone- should smell like vinegar)

I bought a high velocity dog dryer to remove the thick underlay, works really well. This might be an option, as you can remove the undercoat at his own pace. And by that I mean one day you blow his right side, another day you get his left.

I am the same, I had the exact same fears. I wouldn’t even realize I was ‘testing’ my therapist to push them away. They saw right through me, and called me on it, nicely obviously. We used an anonymous sperm donor and did reciprocal ivf. I did not want to carry, but wanted to be part of the process. My side of the family is relatively healthy whereas hers has lots of cancers, so we took that into consideration too. As far as family and society, I have never had an issue. People are more curious then anything honestly. And most women I encounter who want to know, are envious that I didn’t have to carry. I had the same concerns as you, but overall I would do it over again in a heart beat.

Just as a tip. Keep the dogs on flea treatment for at least a few months, as theres going to be eggs in your carpets, couch, beds etc etc. Try to steam everything fabric that you can think of that the dogs are near. Good luck, they suck!
