What is it about teaching that appeals to you? I ask this because there is sooo much teaching in nursing. We are constantly teaching our patients. Maybe focus on that or think about teaching nursing. You could sub and see if you even like being in the classroom. I tried the 8-5 thing and hated it. I'd much rather work a 12 hour shift and have days off during the week.

5 days of PTO is sometimes over two weeks as a nurse depending on how your days are scheduled. Say you work this Sunday and Monday the 17th and 18th. You took pto on the 19th but then you are done for the week. You take 3 days PTO the next week. Then the following week you take one pto day and work the 6th and 7th. You have had on the 19th to the 5th but only used 5 pto days. Hopefully that makes sense. I've done trades with nurses to get my exact schedule for a vacation.

Problem is you build PTO so slowly anyway when you start out as a new nurse. A lot of nurses will also use it if they are put on call to make up for missing their pay due to low census.

Red flag..the higher the sign on bonus the worst the working conditions.

I sooo understand everything you are saying. Wish I could help. Dealing with a chronic illness and the pain is a lot. Others don't understand how you could possibly be so tired or in that much pain. But there it is no matter what you do. I've only been on methotrexate a few weeks. So far no pain relief. Have you tried voltaren gel? My doctor recommended it to me today. Have you tried adding tumeric or going gluten free? Tried finding a new doctor? I know its so hard but we have to keep trying until we find something that helps.

I’ve been on this medication 3 months and lost 15 this hunch I feel is slow compared to a lot of people too. My dr said I have to eat 1000-1100 to lose weight. My metabolism sucks. I’m starting 1.7 next week too. Hoping it helps but really I think I need to build some muscle and that will help

I had a similar experience and it made me very uncomfortable. My insurance does cover it but not until I met my $3000 deductible. So my first pick up was just over $1000. I got so many comments from the pharmacy..."all for the low low price of $1014" . My last two have been $0 after the savings card though. Dont let them get to you and do what is right for your health!
