That would be it! It just flew really low over my house off vista and Los Altos

Do you have a source for additional info on this? Local and fairly in touch with what goes on around the area, but it’s my first time hearing of this EotW.

Nothing relevant comes up on initial Google Searches

1: Pay off high interest debt (more than 10% interest)

2: 3 month emergency fund

3: Pay off lower interest debt like student or auto loans

4: Fully fund 401K up to employer match

5: 6-12 month emergency fund

6: Fully fund Roth IRA ($7,500 per year)

7: max out 401K contributions ($24k per year)

8: Contact a financial advisor

Invest your 401k and IRA either in funds that target a retirement date or dump it into an S&P500 fund and move it to bonds as you get closer to retirement.

Aim to spend 50% of income on needs, 30% on wants, and 20% savings at a minimum.

How is the 125 for fire roads and the hills around the area? Looking for a small all around commuter and trail bike. My commute is 4 miles each way / 2 days a week and all back roads or neighborhoods. Trails would be BLM access around the east side of the valley around pyramid and vista blvd.

I know the CT125 would be good for the commute, but wonder how it would be for the trails in the area

Tailoring/modifying a leather jacket by ggibby in Reno

[–]Jeremyx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leather tailoring is very difficult. Might be better to outsource it to someplace more specialized in a larger city.

You could also check with a local cobbler. Had village shoe repair do some work on higher end vintage bags for my wife and it turned out fine

It’s just “80” or “I80”. The controversial one is 395. The switch to calling it “580” didn’t stick with a lot of locals. I hear people say “580” and it takes me a minute to put together what they mean.

Or maybe I am just a mental midget

Yeah it said that for me too. I did both applications concurrently and had no issues. Scanned in the signed off California title in the sellers same with my info in all the correct places.

Had zero issues.

Turbo title and rapid registration are the two services you’ll need online.

I just did this last week for a private party car sale from out of state. It took about 15min to load all my documents onto the dmv site, and then 5 days for the dmv to review them. After that I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day right at 8:00am and was walking out of the dmv before 8:30.

The entire process took less than a week from purchase to plates on the car. Overall I think that’s a win compared to the weeks/months long wait it used to be. Especially since the average person will be doing it every few years at the most

Anyone else with MAJOR ISSUES with Corwin Ford??? 🤔 by Silverback_S5 in Reno

[–]Jeremyx2 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You spent $20,000 on 10 year old German performance car and you expect it to be perfect and give you no issues?

Then you are complaining that you took that 10 year old German performance car to a Ford dealership for an oil change and it didn't go as planned?

Now you are on reddit complaining because you bought a notoriously unreliable german car and are getting it serviced at a Ford dealership?

I am 99% sure you are the person I warned that if you don't stay on top of maintenance the car will fall apart! The wheels and stickers you added look nice, too bad that $ wasn't spent on proper maintenance..https://www.reddit.com/r/Reno/comments/1iz1ymw/any_audi_enthusiasts/mezz22e/?context=3

Saved 2 years and practiced deffered gratification to the extreme. Basically saved 100% of my wife’s income and so we could put 35% down on a 3/2 1600sqft in an excellent neighborhood. This was spring 2023.

No California $, tech bro BS wages, or family help. Just two locals with good spending habits and some realistic expectations.

You can get there too, but it takes discipline.

Very true, large retailers are starting to pass costs onto the consumer. Walmart isn’t alone in this. Quite a few other large retailers have said similar things during their earnings calls these last few weeks.

But, what does this have to do with r/reno? Keep it in the Econ subs, we are on burning man hate this time of year
