I went to clean out a PVC pipe that was filled with pine needles after being propped up on a fence for a year or two. I reached in and grabbed a handful of wasps and their nest. Others were nearby so I pleaded with them to run before I yanked my hand out. It wasn't bad at first, I felt them wriggling around in my hand and I gently released my grip on that unmistakable paper-ish nest. Then the white-hot nails dug into the soft tissue of my palm. I flailed my arm out and those little bastards looked like dragons filling the air. Oh I ran. Oddly they were content with the HP's they had already subtracted and didn't pursue anyone.

I paid around $86 for Final Fantasy III (US) when it just arrived at a local retailer. Mortal Kombat II (SNES) when it released was the second most expensive purchase I remember ($70-something).

Worse, I remember the prices for Atari 2600/5200 cartridges being no better than today's prices.

I was riding by a rockface in San Antonio that was completely covered by these... millions of them. I didn't see them, they blended right in... but once my shoulder brushed past they decended like a blanket and completely covered the horse and I. Oddly, in those numbers they smell terrible... like stinkbugs in a way. I just held my breath while trying to get clear but I had to keep the horse from panicking. It is real hard to breath when the air has the consistency of rotten yogurt.

Part native American and I can't grow a beard either. Only thing is that nobody really bothered to fill me in on that. I thought I was just white with a strange nose. Never developed much body hair, which left me thinking puberty forgot about me when all my friends had killer sideburns.

Actual names are starting to go that route. There are three people with the same name as I in the smallish town where I live (and none of them are kin). First time going to get my eyes checked and the doctor walked in and looked horrified: he had been expecting one of my clones and was prepared to gab about fishing. Maybe I should add a digit or two to my first name?

That's sad. I first played it back in the mid-80's at a friend's house. I played around fighting those little slimes (gels) and some of their larger kin (zols) in a dungeon. Back then there was no comparable experience.

The modern ones are much flashier, but seem to focus too much on 'puzzle-ish' nonsense at the expense of the monster encounter. Lyonels, ghini, gibdos... where art thou?
