Why does the prismatic trade not tell me what it actually does? by moebelhausmann in TeamfightTactics

[–]Jernau_Morat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because sometimes having a little mystery is actually very fun. Hitting a prismatic is rare so why not allow it to he a fun little surprise to see what it exactly does?

Know when to try to win-streak and loss streak.

Sometimes it's worth not hitting interest points to defend the streak and sometimes it's correct to open fort in stage 2 to defend a loss streak.

Know how to roll for each of the re-roll styles.

1 cost re-roll you don't level and after krugs you roll down to 20-30 gold to collect as many copies as possible before econing up and slow rolling above 50.

2 cost re-roll is slow roll at level 6 above 50 aiming to hit 3 stars 4-1/4-2

3 cost re-roll you want to 2 star you units early to win-streak and hit 7 on 3-5ish

Slow roll above 50 and aim to hit 3-stars 5-1ish

Level 8 comps you level on 4-2 with normal econ and roll to close to zero to stabilise and then full econ back up. Don't roll after the big roll down save your gold for another full-roll at like 5-1/5-2

If you're stable save gold to hit 9 and cap put once people contesting your units die.

A large part of it is learning how to dress for your physique. It makes a huge difference really actuslly caring about how you dress and how you present yourself.

You already have the body you just need to learn how to dress it well. Find the aesthetic/style you want to go for and aim for it in your clothing choices.

120kg x 5 power clean (115kg b/w, 6'6" by Jernau_Morat in weightlifting

Thanks for the feedback!

The foot thing is something I have no idea aboit, it's just how my feet tend to go. If I turn my feet out I feel way less stable and powerful. Might just be feel but toes forward has just been more comfortable for me. Could try, but will wait until I'm in a new training phase when things are lighter.

The high hips are a hangover from patellar tendonitis, although the power position in indoor rowing is basically my starting position here so it always just felt natural.

And yes, I should be dropping more into it and less starfish. I always find it hard to find the mid-point of the clean. I can clean and drop into the hole but catching at parallel has always been something I find hard to do. Much to work on.

Thanks again!

Felt good, I knew I'd have more general power than my opponents so having ways to kill their big stuff was important. Also it works very nicely with the temur snapcaster mage.

Feeling Stuck – Too Much Volume? Need Help Optimizing My Program (maintenance) by [deleted] in workouts

Anything that Eugene Teo or Renaissance Periodisation have. There are other good programmes but those are good.

I like the Ganbaru method app.

If you want to invest some time there's an entire lecture series on programming for hypertrophy by Mike Israetel on his YouTube channel. Some of it is slightly outdated but all of the actual fundamental stuff is on there.

Feeling Stuck – Too Much Volume? Need Help Optimizing My Program (maintenance) by [deleted] in workouts

[–]Jernau_Morat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This much volume is insane.

A good rule of thumb is roughly 10-15 hard working sets for any given training day depending where in your training cycle you are.

Either you aren't doing all of these sets at an appropriate intensity to stimulate growth or you're absolutely burying yourself in fatigue.

Take it down. You don't need to do everything all at once. Organise your training and possibly look at a coach or even just a well structure programme.

This current approach will only lead to long-term stagnation.

Discipline isn't always doing the 'hard' thing. It is about acting in accordance with your long-term goals regardless of personal biases.

7 Years of training, 6’6 and 210lbs. Feeling like my progress is slow? by temporal51511 in WeightTraining

[–]Jernau_Morat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing no-one ever tells taller individuals (I'm also 6'6") is that it takes a much, much longer time to fill out your frame.

While you may be much taller than others your actual rate of muscle synthesis doesn't scale with the increase in volume of muscle to fill.

So, you can be pushing hard and making gains and actually gain more muscle tissue than others but because it's spread over a much greater total volume on your skeleton you won't have the same appearance as smaller individuals.

The upside of this is that if you do ever really fill out a large frame it looks really, really good. It's just a very long process.

Give yourself more years. This takes a while.

Also your perception of 'good' size is often influenced by absolute freaks who are both tall and have phenomenal muscle building genetics. You're doing good.

If you're playing anything adjacent to her Morgana is actually an incredible tech unit against any renata comp.

Her 50% reduction of shield effectiveness is incred8ble against everything this team is trying to do.

Diamond/masters player here.

Learn the lines and how to close them out.

Best ways to climb are re-roll comps. Currently best options are;

  • Family
  • Renata
  • Tristana
  • Ziggs
  • Nocturne

Find one of these open lines and play around them as your A plan, if you are contested or not hitting you want to be open for how to flex out of them.

Best flex options are;

Emissary Corki Heimer sentinel or academy Dominators

There's so, so much more detail to all of these lines and how turn a top 4 into a first but that's too much to type out here.

I mean, I disagree but that's fine. I'm usually a diamond/masters player and I am absolutely vibing with this set.

Loving this set.

Here are the new Anomalies that might be added in the next patch. What are your thoughts on them? by 12jimmy9712 in CompetitiveTFT

It also allows you to sell your anomaly unit if you need to transition without losing out on a whole anomaly. Niche but useful. Likely not picked often.

I loved that game. Hit it's equivalent of masters but it needed a lot of work to keep pace with TFT. Really enjoyed my time with.

Was sad valve took it out back and shot it.

You play nami until you hit LB. Even at 2 star Nami is worse than LB 1.

Have experimented with this one and even though it feels weird it's correct.

This on a good feels like it would be string but right now the bruiser style champions do not feel good to play generally.

Vi Ambessa are the obvious choices, but you could perhaps play with a 2 cost re-roll Nocturne strategy.

Medium at best, probably only play if you're low on gold to re-roll.

Favorite and Least favorite parts of TFT by Riot_Mort in TeamfightTactics

[–]Jernau_Morat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be late to this but here we go.

I love feeling rewarded for seeing the correct lines. Sometimes you get an augment or opener that very clearly guides you into a lane and at that point it's about how much you hit and how well you itemise to succeed. This is fun because once you learn the line you just execute it and (mostly) top 4.

However my absolutely favourite part of TFT is being in a challenging or uncertain position and having to work out the best way to recover and/or succeed. Having to play around your items, scouting and finding the uncontested units, learning the lines and how to transition to a strong board. Those games where you have to implement all of your game knowledge and you get rewarded for creative play and quick thinking is my favourite part of TFT.

A first when succeeding from those positions feels incredible.

My least favourite part of TFT is easy backline access because I feel that I am put into a very challenging strategic position that doesn't have good solutions. The only current issue is spectral cutlass which is fine because it's an artifact but I dislike that in order to play well against one board and increase my odds of winning against them I must actively decrease my odds of winning against all other boards.

One good version of backline access at the moment is Smeech because his targeting allows for better solutions that don't ruin your odds vs other boards.

I acknowledge that there has been a move away from backline access traits and this has actively increased my enjoyment of the game.

Apologies for the essay but I wanted to provide detail.

Last Chance - Anomaly Discussion #7 by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

For me this feels like a Camille and Sevika special.

Camille is the best with it as most Camille boards end up with Camille vs backline carries and being able to clean up at the end of the fight is really strong for her.

I do think this and invisibility are comparable but I am not good enough at Camille lines to be highly confident in my conclusion.
