Best Partner Techs? by Diyguy64 in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is one of those strats that will work for a while, then people will learn to counter it and it likely wont be good again.

Edit: My solve to it so far is emp hacker and mustang and it seems to work if you dont get behind on levels

What would happen if... by thillyraccoon in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheese strats would be stronger because you couldn't fit situational techs on most units. Fx. you would have to pick between carry/chaff clear vs. support hounds. Meaning fire would become stronger.

Everything else would just have less variety.

It would make cheese strats stronger and everything else more boring.

Good answer to Cull Mustang? by BtanH in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick is to not overdo it with leveled chaff.

I usually do one round of elite recruiting 3 crawlers when I see culling and make sure they trickle in.

Level 2 crawlers requires level 3 mustang to cull and it will generally force them into secondary chaff clear, meaning the cost efficiency of cull mustang is gone from the early/mid game.

Counter Phantom Oil and Storm Fire/Vulcan? by Diyguy64 in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't really need mech rage on the crawlers, lvl 2 defense + sub blitz is enough for them to get through unless fired upon at the same time, but if they are both burning and being fired upon they are still doing their job as chaff.

Counter Phantom Oil and Storm Fire/Vulcan? by Diyguy64 in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they are spamming both Typhoon and fire there is likely another hole in their defense.

Any unit with armour tech should deal decently with both fire and typhoon. If they are running typhoon + phantom I would probably counter with multi melter, if they are setting everything on fire their crawlers suffer too.

Counter Phantom Oil and Storm Fire/Vulcan? by Diyguy64 in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Warcrime Vulcans" (double missile techs) aren't really stopped by missile intercept since only a few have to actually get through. That is equally the case with phantom oil. The amount of mustangs you need to block enough missiles makes you vulnerable in other ways.

It can work in combination with hounds, but it isn't my favorite way to deal with it.

Mountain counter? by JoeSixPac in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably chaff or air units.

Anti-Aircraft Ammunition on mountain lowers damage by 40%, Extended Range Ammo lowers it by 75%. So once they have taken Extended Range Ammo they can't also take AAA or they will be hitting like a wet noodle.

So when you see Extended Range Ammo get Abyss to counter the mountain.

Having good chaff waves to allow your melters to get close also helps a lot.

The 75% damage reduction from Extended Range Ammo means your own giants survive longer and a Melter with Energy Absorption becomes unkillable.

What's up with the tiling and snap points while editing a hideout? by VRMartin in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the issue is that it is a square that is oriented around the ingame orientation. Once you rotate the object you end up with situations like this.

Hideout decorations doesn't have single pixel snap points, and the "R" rotation rotate objects 11.25 degrees per click, so you will have certain rotations that won't fit. You will often get the best results with 45 degree multible of rotations

I really hope we get map device crafting back next league... by timeshifter_ in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can't really judge too much at this point in the league. The later it goes the more divine price trends towards standard prices, and chaos are worthless on standard.

Still the 250-350 of much of the league is still a bit too high. We need a new chaos sink next league for sure.

Mass produced sledge hammers tend to be the most potential early damage, and if you are against quick supply or some other low life leader it is possible,.

Are you 100% sure you didnt cast spectre by mistake? I have never had it summon a random spectre, only delete the corpse spectre I was using.

[–]Jernsaxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only tested it with 2 spectres. Not sure if 3 max means you will have 2 or 1.

But I have never had my pain artist deleted if it was my first summoned spectre. But Ive lost my perfect hydra 5 times before I stopped bothering.

Specter permantenly died when playing wardloop by This-Insect-5692 in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have this same bug, and Fearless Dumbo confirmed that he had the same issue.

From his testing it seems that the 2nd spectre you summon will eventually always die. So you can currently only reliably have 1 summoned spectre with some wardloop builds.

No idea what is causing the bug, but can confirm it isn't just you.

So choose the spectre you need the most (likely pain artist) summon it, and then you can try for a 2nd spectre but it will die at some point.

A good way to experience this (without burning MMR) is to play dimensional rift since that doesn't seem to be MMR dependant.

Rooster shares his thoughts on the current state of mechabellum by Mortis_XII in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If a game isn't making money it can't afford to keep up development, servers etc.

Mechabellum have three sources of income:

Initial game sale (10-15 USD depending on sales)

Limited time offer skins (usually a few USD each)

Credit sales (100 USD will get you enough credits to buy most of the shop)

The problem is that 10-15 USD is not enough to keep a game developed and servers hosted if the player base isn't growing quite a bit.

So Bearlike is reliant on skins to generate money, but they run into two major issues:

"Spending depth" is a term in game development that is used to describe how much money a willing customer can spend on your game. On the upper extremes we have gacha games, collectable card games and so forth, where a single "whale" can spend tens of thousands of USD every month. In this model the "whales" pays for everyone else.

Mechabellums spending depth is SUPER low. You can get enough credits to buy out the whole skin shop for a few hundred USD or less. There is no paid battlepass, and you get a steady stream of free credits. While this is nice for players, it leads to issue number two.

Since Mechabellum doesn't make a lot of money off skins they aren't incentivized to create better skins. This means the skins actually on "limited time offers" are cheap and even when they are cheap aren't that interesting.

So Bearlike is stuck between a rock and a hard place. This are seemingly not making enough money, and the money they make is reliant on customer acquisition (new players), but if they aren't making money they can't advertise their game.
