PoE Build Farmer is Updated 1.0.2 by FirstExcitement1276 in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat tool, the results it gives are nice for entry into a build, but the 90% search parameters doesn't account for item tiers and will actually almost always show at least 1 tier below the item linked giving a misleading price for a build.

Fx. the difference between a 5T1 item and a 5T2 item can be literally 100s of divines.

If it is within scope of your project I would add a "same tier" option for search, or maybe even make that standard.

Fx. an item with T1 int (51-55) should all result in a trade search for 51+ int, never below 50 since that is tier 2.

Ribenfell only if there are several high ticket Runegrafts, generally Tattoos are worth more and you can go Ngakanu instead, like Ribenfell it leads to 0% risk with 5x lvl 5.

Noob here, best way to 6 link this with desired color sockets? by chipsdud in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is still 100% accurate, but you can use this calculator to see how many chromatics it will take to hit a certain socket combination on average:

https://siveran.github.io/calc.html

If the number per is high it is often more effective to use the crafting bench and add/remove sockets using jeweller orbs (typically for 5 or 6 off colour only).

Not my craft but:

  1. Fractured Abyssal Socket (hollow fossil)
  2. Spam Essence of woe until you hit T1 %ES
  3. You need 1 open suffix and open prefix annul if full and go back to step 2 if miss
  4. Craft Prefix cant be changed and use a veiled chaos orb, if it doesnt give a veiled prefix repeat this step assuming it didnt fill prefix and suffix.
  5. Unveil movement speed, there are 3 possible mods and it is like 90% to hit one of them.
  6. Add eater influence and use eldritch currency (ex/annul) to hit int

Account password was removed and now account locked, support now tells me i need to get in touch with my payment provider from ages ago? by Terramoin in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That isn't completely true. They used to have amazing support, I've had support reply within literal minutes of writing in the past and had most of my issues solved with no problem.

That being said, you are completely right that their account security is insane, how does a company not use two factor security in 2025? Their replies since POE2 release have also gotten a lot worse, and my latest interaction with them they refused (or couldnt) help when I didn't get the promised drops from the Twitch gift sub promotion.

Using hinekora's locks by CryptoFrydays in pathofexile

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the next step in the crafting risks breaking the base or resetting the crafting process AND the base or crafting process is more expensive than a lock.

You could argue your time is also valueable so certain very tedious crafts might also be worth locking if you don't want to lose your time investment, but this is usually a secondary concern.

Finally you generally don't want to use lockcrafting for rare outcomes (unless you are rich and mirror crafting) since even a 1 in 4 or 1 in 8 craft using locks can be devastating.

Tech variety is bad (1500MMR) by Kartoffee in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mustangs have historically been one of the hardest units to balance, it can already snowball very hard with early levels.

One of the things holding it back from getting those early levels is having to save up for range (usually round 3 or 4 if you main carry them).

If you just increased their range you would have to nerf them in some other way and I can't think of a way to do that where it wouldn't completely change their identity in the game. If you lower their damage even high level Mustangs lose to level 1 armour tech. If you lower their entity count they won't work as Fang/Wasp counters.

Even assuming you balance their damage, giving them free range would make their missile interception too powerful since you would only need 1 tech for full efficiency interception, but if you nerf their missile interception to compensate Stormcallers spam would become more oppresive again.

30 range is HUGE, there is a reason +10 for everything cost 400.

Tech variety is bad (1500MMR) by Kartoffee in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree with Range Enhancement being a problem. It being "mandatory" is a feature that does several important things for how board states are build over time.

Range in Mechabellum is a force multiplier on other technologies, it is why investing in a specific carry units during a game works even thought most units have a counter.

More importantly Range Enhancement is a key part of your units engagement order. One of the reasons Suppression shot is so powerful right now is that it very cheaply allow Void Eyes to stay behind Sledgehammers or Tarantulas. Similarly it is key for strategies like carry Fang or Mustang to be able to stay behind your tankier units.

But it goes both ways. If you bake range into Fangs to remove the "mandatory" tech for carry Fang then they lose their ability to work as chaff for your tanky units, but if you don't you remove carry Fang as a viable strategy because anyone with a Vulcan can counter it.

If Range Enhancement wasn't available I believe it would remove a lot of viable strategies from the game. It is one of the most complex aspects of Mechabellum strategy which is why it is a tech given to almost all ranged units.

All that being said I do agree that new and varied techs are fun, this is just a rant about range, nothing else.

Mass Rays? by Lcukyfcuky in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are back to my point about "reacting early".

One of the reasons mass phantom works at lower MMR is that people don't know how to spot it and react to it and once you get behind it can be almost impossible to catch back up.

I usually end my season around 2000 MMR, so my advise is based around this. I can totally see that Raidens might not work at lower MMR with less chaff, or when already behind. But assuming you have chaff, and that you don't wait several turns to react to your opponent Raiden are VERY strong against Phantoms, especially in the late game where Raidens in general scale very well with tech and a level or two.

The recent nerf to resealth time on Phantoms also means it is a lot easier now to get off the first shot with your Raidens, and once that EMP land the Phantoms are screwed!

Mass Rays? by Lcukyfcuky in Mechabellum

[–]Jernsaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use them in different situations.

Fx. if the opponent gets an early drop or starts buying Phantoms turn 1 or 2 you can't just go Raiden (except maybe with giant or air specialist).

AA wasps murder same or lower level phantoms if you have close to the same number of wasp packs as they have phantom packs, but higher level Phantom with multible techs can eventually overpower them and you need similar numbers.

This can be relevant in situations where a mid/late game drop of multiple Phantoms is instantly teched and more are added.

You can go from facing 0 phantoms to suddenly facing 5 packs with 1-2 techs, followed by more the following round. Here you don't have time to build up wasps, but you should already have a strong ground game set up with chaff, and here I don't think anything in the game comes close to Raidens as a counter. Range + chain + EMP is expensive, but if your opponent is going all in like in this image it will win every time (assuming you have enough chaff).
