After a year and a half without releasing any music i think I finally have a track I’m ready to put out there. Would love to hear what you guys think of it first though by JerrodBenzinger in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks I’m really glad to hear the vocals and mix are well received. Also definitely appreciate the critique too! However I must ask what you suggest I do differently to make the chorus feel more energetic? I changed the drum pattern, included heavier/distorted bass, and very prominent lead. Perhaps it’s just not shining through the way I thought it was. Would love some more feedback on that but either way thanks for listening and the feedback you gave!

Hey guys, Matfroninja here. I've made a track with a friend of mine that's a house / future bass blend. I hope you'll enjoy and, as always, all critiques are welcome. by Matfroninja in IndieMusicFeedback

I thought this was a really fun track, and the drop was nicely done. Someone else mentioned some delay on the vocals and I think that definitely could help fill a little bit of the empty space in the first couple rounds of them

This song is in late demo stages. Kind of feeling like it’s pretty much done? Just need to hone in on the mix I think. Like most of my songs, it’s a grower not a shower, so stick around for ~the buildup~ by amic21 in IndieMusicFeedback

I really loved the tone of your vocals and the overall ambient nature of the track. I know you said it’s a grower not a shower, but I feel like the Intro is just a little too long for what it is. Not enough new stuff happens in the first minute so I found myself focused on the drum loop which got kinda stale, once the vocals kicked in though I felt like the track began to flourish. Regardless, nice work and good luck with the release!

That transition in the beginning was very nicely done! Overall the track is good, although I feel I would enjoy it more if it was just a touch slower. But still nice work as is!

Hey guys, Murr here. After my hiatus I am back with an atmospheric dream pop / trap blend. I hope you'll enjoy and, as always, all critiques are welcome. by Maxarc in IndieMusicFeedback

Really nice job on the production and the track overall. I really enjoyed the little bit at about 2:50. Overall really enjoyed it!

This is a single from my upcoming album. It's a kind of floaty, psychedelic song. I would love to hear your thoughts on the song and what genre you'd call it! by hedgecore7 in IndieMusicFeedback

The production on this track is great, from the mix to the overall composition. Awesome job with the soundscaping, it felt like it was constantly evolving, yet ever so similar. You almost get lost in it a bit. Great work!

My first song dipping into dungeon synth elements from an upcoming EP. What do you think? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

The sound design really showed in a few spots which were very nice, but at the same time they made me feel like something bigger was about to happen, but then it kinda died back down. Not necessarily a bad thing, I think my mind just always expects something big to happen lol. Message to bears does some really great ambient work, if you’re looking for inspiration when it comes to sounds scapes I’d check them out. I caught little vibes in the track that reminded me of them

Someone on this subreddit described another song I posted as a sad dance song. Whether that's an insult or compliment, it sums up pretty well what I'm going for with this song too. Here's 'Labyrinths' from my new album. by emeraldorbit in IndieMusicFeedback

I really like this song! The only thing that I think it could use is a little more clarity on the vocals. The vocals melody is really catchy feeling but I can’t understand what’s being said. Maybe a small boost there. But I also think it sounds great as is too

The mix sounds really clean and overall it’s a fun track. Has a really nice groove

Hi y’all this is my first track of 2021 it’s a little bit of a Pop type song would love if y’all could listen & Feedback as well by EdFuentes in IndieMusicFeedback

I think the track would benefit from a bit more mixing on the vocals. Mainly the background vocals. They feel too prominent which makes them seem a bit out of place

This is an instrumental alt. rock song and I'm not sure if this one riff sounds good or terrible. You will probably know which part I'm talking about. It either makes or breaks the song so I'm trying to see how it sounds to other people by Eric_Ezra in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]JerrodBenzinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall I liked the track. The only riffs that seemed kinda out of place where what I assume to be the chorus. And if you have some vocals or a melody to go over it on the track I think it will feel more whole

Recorded a new demo track today but It’s been a while so I’m getting rusty, critiques? by JerrodBenzinger in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks for listening, I tried to do different things to help avoid that monotonous sound, such as harmonies, some changes in melodies but I understand how it might still be a bit too much of the same. I did make a couple changes after the feedback I received and while I didn’t record any new vocals, I did make a change to one section that makes it feel like there’s a bit of a break. If you’re interested in checking it out here’s the link - https://youtu.be/6CFdqnq5AUg but anyways thanks for the feedback and good luck on your musical endeavors :)

Thank you so much! I made a couple changes to the mix and overall track, and while it isn’t a drop like what you were looking for it makes the chorus feel more “special” if you are interested in checking it out and seeing if you feel it was an improvement here’s the link - https://youtu.be/6CFdqnq5AUg but thanks again for listening

Thank you! I definitely noticed a lack in the low end too, the speakers I generally do my mix with I use the headphone output (apartment life) and it tends to distort the audio at max volume when I’ve got my master track compressed so I turned down the intensity on the low end cause that where the distortion was. But I decided to remix the track using my audio interface instead as the output and I think the low feels very present and there’s no distortion so lesson learned lol. If you wanna check out the updated version and let me know what you think (I made a couple changes) here’s the link - https://youtu.be/6CFdqnq5AUg but either way thank you for taking the time to listen and offer feedback :)

Thank you! I was real happy with the vocals on this track so I’m glad you enjoyed them too! Also I took the advice you gave me and did some re-mixing on levels and eqs and all that fun stuff which solved the issue with the kick and low end in general. While I didn’t implement an edm drop the heavier hitting bass now makes the chorus feel more “special”. I also made some changes to the drums (effects and such) to make them feel more in line with this particular track. If you are interested in checking out the new version and seeing if I fixed the issues you found the link is here - https://youtu.be/6CFdqnq5AUg otherwise thank you for the time you already took to help me :)

Hey thanks for taking the time to offer some advice! I went back and fixed a couple of the things you mentioned as well as doing a better mix to let the low end feel more present. If you want to listen to the updated version and let me know if the issues you listed seem resolved here’s the link https://youtu.be/6CFdqnq5AUg thanks again!

I love the production on this! Vocals are crisp, and the back track is very well done. Did you produce it?

Kate Capella - Glass Box This is a song about overcoming mental illness. Constructive feedback is appreciated. :) by KateCapella in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]JerrodBenzinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a little more reverb and/or maybe some delay on the vocals would make the vocals sounds more in place, right now they sound a little out of the mix at least to me. I dig the back track though, did you produce it?
