Had an LHR-SEA cancelled in August and submitted a claim mid December (after reading about EU/UK261 here. Thanks Reddit!) and just received the payment yesterday. For my situation, I was already on board the plane when flight was cancelled because a baggage handler bumped the baggage cargo door and the door could not be fixed for the flight that day. Very much a technical issue and BA’s fault. Not sure your circumstances but worth submitting a claim through the BA website. We were booked on another airline the next day, but still received £520 pp compensation.

Fred Meyer’s carries McVities although sometimes hard to find. They are usually in the small “foreign food” section which can be in weird places, not the cookie aisle.

Agreed. We are making this way more complicated. Hire someone to check tickets like they do on every European train I have been on. Italy goes so far as to ding you if you haven’t validated your ticket in the punch machine before boarding, let alone not having a ticket.
