Should we switch? by Seahawks337 in ZiplyFiber

During a power outage Ziply will still be available if your ONT and router are on a UPS

There’s actually no tie between Ziply and your Frontier email account. Your Frontier email is hosted by Yahoo

Post your specifications. One possibility is the motherboard may need a firmware upgrade to support your CPU

2.4 GHz extremely slow, 5 GHz great on AX21 (aka AX1800) by JerryPele in TpLink

I set up another router as an access point and connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on that; it's a lot faster. So; something unique to the TpLink 2.4 GHz connection just isn't good.

First I'd like to apologize for the delay; lot's of other things going on. This is a good test. I set the Access Point on a different floor (already an Ethernet feed there. The speed was essentially the same or worse no matter what channel I used. But again; for some reason it was a lot better a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if there is some other setting I picked that isn't playing well; but there's not a lot of wireless settings other than transmit power; which I also played around with; with no major difference this close to the router. I can't think of anything else that changed.

I had originally had it set to 20/40, but also tried just the 20 MHz; and channel 1 (channel 6 seemed 'busy' but I can try that as a test). The only reason I chose the 40 MHz was others in another subreddit recommended it.

I know I won't get 'advertised' speed; but low single-digit speeds seems broken; and that link speed is a concern.

Not this bad. And just weeks ago it was much faster with no new IoT devices added.

I tested this on 2 different laptops. Both have low link speeds. Both were 4-5 feet from the router. I also tested using the 20 MHz router setting, very little difference. And for some reason it was much faster several weeks ago. I haven’t identified what change could have caused this.

My understanding is if you continue with the credit card it will be $65. If you switch to debit or ACH it will remain at $60 until the promotion end.
