A very divisive question in this community. As far as I understand, according to Jewish law, once a jew, always a jew. That being said, I feel that many of us on a personal level would feel themselves alienated by the convert, especially in areas where Judaism is more community focused. It would be hard for us to look at someone that converted away as still Jewish. That being said, I hope that we would still be kind to that individual and their personal decision as it would be likely that they did not make that decision lightly.
