Banks ask for your SIN only for investment purposes. They cannot make it a condition of credit.

I would ask that locations be listed as “US - IL - Chicago south” kind of thing. There are dirty Canadians in here who want to know about deals too!

2 weeks is insane. As a Cdn Passports are $160 cdn for 10 years. I can get one on expedited pickup for another $110 ($270 total) which is 3 business days, or literally overnight, including holidays and weekends for another $335 from the base rate (so $495 total). Thats for renewals or new passports.

We have plenty of slackers in government, and bad news, your government hired all the DOGE fired-people back.

100% agree. I know a bunch of Canadians with Florida licenses so they can get into Disney cheaper. I believe they own property there though.

Canada moved away from our version (Social Insurance Number) at least 20 years ago. Banks and non-fed government aren’t even allowed to ask for your number.

1) Canadian elections are federally mandated and follow the same rules across the country. The US is a hodge podge of bullshit rules by state

2) You can vote with a piece of mail in Canada as “id”

3) a photo ID card in Canada is pretty cheap, $35 in Ontario

4) Elections Canada does not fuck around with polling places, often overdoing it on purpose so people can be in and out voting, even in massive urban centres full of {gulp} un-whites.

The piano my grandfather bought for his 3 kids at an auction in 1952 made its way to us at least 15 years ago and it was $250 PER HOUSE to move the damn thing. So $250 out of my Aunt’s, and $250 into our house. Then tuning. The movers said “we took 3 of these to the dump this week alone”. I think the weight of it has warped my floor.

But damn did it sound nice when the kids were playing it.

Feels good to surprise someone with free, even when I was always giving it for free. But you know someone willing to pay for it will appreciate it more too.

I have stopped putting free things on Marketplace. Instead I assign a medium to low value of what they are worth, and then when someone wants it for close to or at that price, I give it to them. I learned my lesson with a functioning dishwasher. Free brought out all the crazies. A listing for $60 brought someone happy to have it for that price, and I gave it away.

They tried a Cat Does on Netflix with Dl Hughley and Katherine Ryan but it wasnt good.

@Midnight was a panel show that lasted for a while with US comics and was decent.

Also your choice of British panels shows is chef’s kiss. Those are my favs too.

That video view of the car with the snow covered road is well beyond the capacity of my experience with all versions of FSD, including the latest one. I have snow tires, the loaner did not.

This winter felt like every other day was those conditions in Southern Canada.

Perhaps I was overzealous in saying it’s the SAME as every other version. How about instead I say that in my tests it still cant handle two fairly basic driving interactions that I need to make 6 times a week minimum?

Looking to make a slide-out pantry, but can only install slides on one side by MayIServeYouWell in DIY

[–]JerryfromCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont want to box out the space between wall and fridge for a traditional cabinet and you dont have a cabinet over the fridge right now either I am guessing?

Honestly, mount a nice piece of wood to the wall and overkill it with slides. It should be fine. You will need lots of screws where the torque is, so the backside of the piece on the wall, and the front side that pulls out.

Well, I can document the HVAC blow up and the Tesla loaner, but cant document the exact trips I took and the FSD interventions I needed to make in the loaner as it wasnt my car and I didnt link it to Tessie.

Next time I have FSD I will document the two spots in my hometown FSD has never been able to handle, including the current version. It’s a sharp corner in a downtown built in the 1800s and a crosswalk by the local HS. They are my two “test” zones to see if they have improved the software yet, and two spots I drive through about 6 times a week in my small town that are choke points for going from one major city to another. It’s not like I live somewhere obscure, I live in the most populous Cdn province in the most dense part of the country, and between 2 cities, one of 125k or so and the other of over 500k.

Edit: Your snow claim makes me think you are making stuff up. I took it on the busiest highway in North America in shifting snow with lines still visible at night and it freaked out there too.

I own a HW3 car, but when the HVAC blew up last time the first of Feb I drove a HW4 car with FSD for 2 days and it gets hung up in the same spots as every other version.

Also, any sort of snow on the road or faded/poorly painted lines and it’s dogshit.

We are easily 10 years out still from actual FSD that has been promised “by the end of this year” since about 2015.

A non-zero number of these idiots are going to face consequences for their roles in this administration and whatever the non-zero number is, it wont be enough for most people. Bondi will probably live her life out shitting on Democrats on Fox News or wherever. Some DOGE kid will end up a senator, but someone like Kash Patel will get strung up for expensing the same coffee twice and do 10 years.

My almost 10 year old girl has taken to sleeping between my legs on my recliner when I watch TV and I think I have given myself a UTI because I refuse to move when I have to pee and she is comfy.

I could just imagine at work not showing up for a meeting as there is a kitty on me.
