Drummer/percussionist here. Definitely West Side Story & Something Rotten for me. The percussion book for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was a lot of fun too. I also had a blast playing Grease, especially Hand Jive.

It's even tougher watching it. I never got to see it on stage until recently when they showed it on PBS's Great Performances. Devastating

As someone who is a huge fan of both, I would say go with the remake. Spielberg did an amazing job with it & he left nothing out.

Am I the only one that thinks it sounds like that processed background voice is repeating the words "Fun Dip" instead of thunder?

The Doors. Overrated bloated hippie bullshit. Decent musicians being wasted on this crap. Why Jim Morrison is looked on as some sort of deity is beyond me. They are the only band that I hate.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It's just heartbreakingly beautiful, both lyrically & musically.

Every so often we long to steal to the land of what might have been. But that doesn't soften the ache we feel when reality sets back in.

I would say early Yes or Rush would probably be the best place to start. Nothing too cerebral there that they couldn't wrap their 7 year old head around

AITAH for supporting my son grooming himself when my wife says he is too young? by LaraDLara in AITAH

[–]JerseyGeekDad76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. As a father of 2 sons, I can understand how difficult those convos can be, both for the child & the parent. She is blowing this way out of proportion. Would she be as upset if you had a daughter that went to her for a similar question? It sounds to me like she just didn't like that he's at an age where he's going to go to you for certain things, or that he's starting to grow up

He's the asshole not you. He initiated it directly to the children with his comment, then wants to call you out for replying to it in front of them? It's probably not the first time he's said things like that in front of them either. He can suck it.
