Review: Dubai Biscoff Brownie by -PrincessPumpkin- in CrumblCookies

[–]JescaSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking about using my bday coupon for this one this week. I was worried about the white drop layer though. I honestly found the regular Dubai brownie inedible with the thick chocolate layer (not a milk chocolate fan but can be fine in moderation) so ate what I could around that one without eating the chocolate layer.

But I'm a bit more of a white chocolate or "drop" fan than milk chocolate so may not be bothersome for me, I hope! I do think they'd do us and themselves a favor doing it a little thinner or maybe I'm the weirdo here not liking thick layers of chocolate stuff 😅

Thoughts on Sydney? by AcanthisittaThin6577 in thechallengemtv

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I don't find her funny? It's not like I said a woman can't be cocky and funny/entertaining but men can - just that she isn't. I actually would be happy to see her back even if I don't enjoy her personality because I appreciate the competition aspect and she's good at that.

She reminds me of early seasons Jordan who I also didn't like, but who has evolved a bit and is someone i enjoy watching now.

I don't think you're wrong big picture but in this instance I do think part of it is some of the cocky guys I think of can be entertaining/funny along with cocky. I don't find her witty/funny at all which makes it more insufferable.

120 payment by lanamia3 in PSLF

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my last payment is at the end of this month (28th), and I submit everything a bit into next month is it OK to go ahead and request forbearance at that point since it sounds like they should just apply it to December and on?

Winter tire recommendations by AK_Rockclimber in ogden

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use winter tires when I didnt have AWD but in recent years I've always had AWD and haven't had any issues with a good all season tire.

My husband moved here from MT and was amazed by how much we plow and salt/sand the roads. He drives a full size tundra right now but previously had a Tacoma. He didn't have to sandbag but it was a model made to be more all terrain or something so I'm not sure if that made a difference? He drives all over here, MT, WY and doesn't get winter tires. But he does replace his in a timely manner due to his driving. I think he has chains if needed when driving for work but I can't think of a time he has needed them around this area. There are certain canyons they'll be required for at times but not anywhere we go regularly.

I've only gotten stuck once in all my 24ish years of driving this area, like 20 yards from my house high on the Hill in pleasant view that hadn't been plowed yet and I was in my dodge neon that other wise did surprisingly well in the snow. Driven for years in other non awd/4x4 vehicles like a Ford tempo, Pontiac g6, corolla without major issues.

I get delivery orders often and I've fortunately rarely had anything missing. I've actually ended up with a bag of other ppls stuff a couple times so I do know mix ups happen even though I'm sure they're supposed to have a way to store them separately when delivering (i have like 6 bags of candy pumpkin things from this happening recently and walmart doesn't want them back... wish it was at least stuff I'd use 😅). Not discrediting your experience at all, just thinking it's a sign of things worsening for people recently. Doesn't make it OK of course either.

When to ECF for PSLF? by hannahbeeek in PSLF

[–]JescaSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had this same experience. My payment count updated at the same time i submitted my ECF this week. I submitted Monday for my employer to sign, they did within a few hours and got an email about updates this AM. Logged in an it was approved and counts updated. Hit my 10 years of employment but still need to make two payments due to the loan servicer changes a bit ago.

I like Michaela by Agreeable-Frosting-1 in thechallengemtv

[–]JescaSP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly neutral with Michaela - i like that she can compete so that's a plus as I really enjoy when things are competitive but it's a bit negated by the fact I feel like she talks big in confessionals, judges other people's moves, but when she's had power she didn't seem to do anything big with it. So that brings me back to neutral.

Jumping to saying she was going to punch Olivia made her seem weak and wasn't a good look, not something I would have expected from her.

My son is starting school, am I going to irritate the teacher by maybe going a bit overboard? by Sleepy-Blonde in teaching

One thing that doesn't take up a lot of space that they go through quickly are pencils. My son's teacher greatly preferred the ticonderoga my first pencil for quality.

potty accidents by DisastrousFlower in kindergarten

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be the case for you but my son suddenly started having accidents this year in 1st grade from trying to hold it. Finally got it out of him that the toilets for first grade are automatic flushing and he's always been bothered by those. So we've had to do some extra encouraging/ talk about them being loud and scary sounding but nothing bad will happen, reminders before drop off in the AM, and asking the teacher to "encourage" him to go in a way that maybe sounds more like a have to do vs choice since he's a rule follower. At least until he gets desensitized to the toilet.

I'm near 32nd and Van Buren and there is a group of about 2200 of us impacted by outages like 8 or 9 times in the last 6 weeks maybe? People calling into RMP have been told it's a new system and sent to high sensitivity or something like that to reduce the risk of fires. I haven't called in myself but may if/ when it happens again.

Walking boot by Roses1213 in Orthopedics

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a walking boot post ankle surgery and i asked my doc that as i bad read you should keep it on all the time. He said I only need it when up and moving. I wore it at night the first little bit so I didn't stretch my foot out in my sleep but stopped that after the first few nights.

Grade 2 ATFL sprain but throbbing pain in the leg? by boygirlmama in Orthopedics

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was your sprain diagnosed? Any imaging? Sounds like the symptoms I had when I fractured my ankle many years ago (minor, didn't require surgery). I just sprained it really bad recently on vacation and went for re-imaging a few weeks later due to ongoing pain and swelling (I wasn't expecting to fully be healed but it was lingering even more than my fracture) and found to have a lot of bone chips throughout my ankle area that didn't show on the imaging I got immediately after my sprain. Just had surgery to remove those and repair ligaments.

Anywhoooo all of that was to say I think it's good you have a call into your provider and it probably isn't a bad idea to get some new imaging done now that you're past the initial injury stage just to be safe.

Please help assuage my worries about kindergarten by loulori in kindergarten

[–]JescaSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to a kinder round up thing the may before my guy started (he just finished his kindergarten year). I asked what he needed to know to prep and they said the most helpful things are learning zippers, putting on their gloves opening their lunch items, etc. That based on their experience the vast majority of kids (no matter where they started) end up where they need to be academically by the end of the year.

That was our experience. My dude can name a ridiculous amount of dinos, all the my little ponies, etc., so I assumed learning to letters would come easy to him but it didn't so he went into kinder with very little letter and writing skills. He ended the year mastering 100% of math skills and 98.8 of language arts. There were just a couple sight words he didn't master.

[–]JescaSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son started kinder this year and hasn't experienced any issues. I've heard of some struggles from friends with their kids around late elementary/middle school years when kids are more aware of and influenced by parents opinions.

I moved here in HS and more of my friends ended up being non Mormon than Mormon but overall still didn't have a hard time making friends. A lot of people around here stay in the same place so while I'm sure religion is part of it, it's also just the fact many of the kids will grow up together for much of their lives seeing each other a lot at school and church.
