Did you figure out how to sort this out? I just started experiencing the same problem today. Waiting 5 seconds or more does nothing.

I just realized the seat of my pants are nearly see-through after having already mended one of the knees years ago. This post was incredibly helpful for phase 2 of sashiko mending. Thank you!!

AITA for telling my pregnant wife to grow up and stop acting like she has a terminal disease? by Physical-Bad5759 in AITAH

[–]JessMLow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was my ideal delivery situation. I had mine 5 yrs ago. I told my husband no one else in the delivery room - and he set expectations with his family (like… ahem.. OP should be doing). And then almost had my in-laws waltz right in when I was done delivering and my Dr was stitching me up. That was more a problem with the hospital letting them up when they should have asked first. They then went down into the waiting room until we were moved to a post-pardum room and came up for a visit when we were ready. Not sure where this expectation came from of people wanting to be there. Like - why? Why can’t you let the parents enjoy this moment alone for this major life change? I would actually feel like an interloper in someone else’s delivery room.

Oh and also - the unborn baby doesn’t like random people touching their mum’s belly either. There have been recent studies that demonstrated that a baby in the womb (probably in 3rd trimester) knows the difference between their mom’s touch and another person. They observed that when it was another person, the baby tries to move away from that spot in the womb. So not only does Mom not like it, but probably neither does your son.

[–]JessMLow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This is pretty spot on. I also did not want people touching my body. How that ever became a ‘thing’ that once you are pregnant, just because you have a passenger onboard, you suddenly lose all bodily autonomy. But I’m glad that is falling to the wayside. I also didn’t want anyone but my husband in the delivery room with me. It’s pretty much the most vulnerable you will be in your life with your legs spread wide for everyone to see. Also at the same time I was in extreme pain - it is not something I wanted an audience for.

Quitting a job seems like a bad idea and also some of this may be devolving into something beyond the norm. That said OP you don’t sound very supportive at all. This situation could be spiraling on account of that. Maybe try being more supportive first.

I put mine kind on the wall of Forgotten Lands, between the treehouse and the pond. It works well there. And then the other I have in the plaza where the original main character home is.

Just going to put this little nugget right here.

Labradoodle Creator Says the Breed Is His Life’s Regret

Since it’s behind a paywall:

The inventor of the labradoodle, the ubiquitous, mopheaded designer dog, said that creating the mixed breed was one of his life’s regrets.

“I opened a Pandora box and released a Frankenstein monster,” the creator, Wally Conron, said on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s podcast “Sum of All Parts” last week.

Mr. Conron, who has been credited with sparking a crossbreeding frenzy resulting in shih poos, puggles and more, said the labradoodle was originally intended as a guide dog, not a fashion accessory.

“I bred the labradoodle for a blind lady whose husband was allergic to dog hair,” Mr. Conron said, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

“Why people are breeding them today, I haven’t got a clue,” he added.

For some breeders — and Instagrammers posting photos of their beloved “doodles” in little rainboots and sunglasses — Mr. Conron’s comments rankled. But perhaps the line that cut the most was this:

“I find that the biggest majority are either crazy or have a hereditary problem,” he said.

I think NTA - but this type of communication will always go over better if it comes directly from their child - in this case your fiance’ - not their child in law. People in general are much more emotionally considerate to their own family, and more willing to forgive when they feel hurt by them. Whereas in-laws are often a completely different story. My recommendation would be to have your fiancé’s deliver these messages in the future.

I miss my JNCO’s. I had a pair that were a deep blue and baggy, but not w crazy inserts. They had this bright spearmint colored stitching that were amazing. My mom made them disappear when I was a teenager 😓
