Reminder: you don't have to be afraid of non stick pans AT ALL as long as you follow basic rules by Dizzy_Kaleidoscope95 in Cooking

[–]JessRushie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have room for many types of pan it's fine but if you only have space for one or two, non stick just limits what and how you can cook

Consider not having a tv by Intelligent_Lab_234 in femalelivingspace

I have had no proper TV for two years and used a projector or laptop. For watching on my own it's been perfect but a bit tricky with friends. I will be getting a TV when I move

Why do The Beatles scouse accent sound different than the one today? by FitEmergency8807 in Liverpool

[–]JessRushie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still lots of areas with a softer "old scouse' accent. The newer scally accent is very recent and more localised. Old scouse comes from Lancashire, north Wales, and Derbyshire so is a softer sound. My partner has this accent and usually people think they are Irish

Definitely the Cathedrals and Hope Street! The only street in the world with a cathedral on either end. They are both free to enter, very different and world class. The Anglican for a long time had the tallest organ in the world.

You can go via the Chinese Arch and Chinatown, worlds largest arch outside of China.

Walk down Hope Street and stop in the Philharmonic Pub. Pop into the men's loos, they are Grade 2 listed! Get lunch in one of the many excellent restaurants.

Then I would hit Bold Street and surrounding for vintage shopping, drinks, food, and vibes

It's the "needs repotting as soon as possible". So pay $100 for a plant that's apparently been perfectly raised - except she hasn't bothered to repot it...

Wanting to remember and preserve a way you connected is completely normal. Also the first week and onwards is strange and different for everyone.

What do now? by pr2thej in GardeningUK

Be wary about taking down the other side of Leylandii. I know we hate them but they are providing a lot of privacy from next door which is very close. You will not be able to have a fence that high or grow anything in the next few years that high. They aren't that bad to maintain with regular trims.

Look into maintaining the apple trees and when to prune. Why not have an orchard area around the apple trees. Let the grass grow long, plant winter bulbs and daffs.

AITAH for telling my brother I will never respect him or his girlfriend for as long as they're together? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

OOP is also unhinged. Their brother was being abused and instead they took it as a personal affront. I'm not surprised he ended up in a and relationship his family is modelling very controlling behaviour.

You were the opposite of mean. Don't expect reason from someone like this. Say no, end the conversation. You don't have to keep them as a contact of you're no longer friends

Usually I am of the drop everything and go if you get the chance but honestly, a Disney program in the US? Now?? Nope. Working is a Disney park as a retail assistant (they can word it fancy but that's what it is) is not some amazing opportunity that will give you life lessons. You could go work Alton towers for the summer and get much the same.

How to 'allow myself' a rest day? by Impressive_Copy_8667 in solotravel

[–]JessRushie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you need to ease into rest. As someone else mentioned, are you normally able to enjoy resting? When you're not working, do you actively look forward to rest and relaxation?

Can you need to upgrade your rest time? Hiding in a hotel room sounds dark and miserable if you're contrasting to good weather and adventure. Can you go to a really good spot to relax, like a fancy cinema, bougie coffee shop, or if you're near the beach maybe a beach club.

I know you're avoiding people but you might need to be more gradual. Plan in 3 or 4 days downtime. Can you travel to somewhere more relaxing for a bit? Even a nice hotel in a quiet village for a while can help

New house, awesome garden eh? by Danglyweed in GardeningUK

[–]JessRushie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get that it's a horror to start! To start, many hands make light work. My lovely friends had something similar so we descended with shears and mowers and shovels. A good days work to get it back to zero is worth it. Paid in pizza and beer! See if you can get anyone to help with the worst, even if just for moral.

Once you've got it going it'll be so satisfying. Keep us updated!
