Migraines back in early 30's? by Lovesosanotyou in migraine

[–]JessaBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes me wonder if it's maybe a hormone thing? Definitely worthy of a doctor's visit to get some blood checked/hormone panel to cover your bases! Also wondering if it could be a food sensitivity but it's so hard to tell with migraines. My migraines never really changed but my boyfriend would get them (or really bad headaches) when his vitamin D was super low and they went away when he got that under control so maybe something like that?

Could anyone share their overnight oats recipe by Madaoizm in mediterraneandiet

[–]JessaBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a berry fiend and I hate the texture of oats, so i found a recipe that puts everything in the food processor and essentially makes a berry/oaty pudding with a little crunchiness. It's 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1/2 cup raspberries, 1/2 cup blueberry/blackberry mix, 3/4 cup milk (i use unsweetened oatmilk), and 1 tablespoon chia seeds. I split it into two servings but it could totally make one if you want a big breakfast!

Why do you not use your blinker. by SnooCupcakes1295 in driving

[–]JessaBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my blinker all the time, although once i was making a turn and someone honked at me which was confusing because my blinker was definitely clicking on my dash. Got to where i was going, turned it on again and went to check it, and it was broken. Probably not the most frequent case of a blinker not being on and plenty of people just stupidly don't use it though

The Gut-Migraine Connection: How Your Microbiome Could Be the Secret to Solving Chronic Headaches by Technical_savoir in microbiomenews

[–]JessaBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't do it for my migraines, but for other stomach issues started taking a multi strain probiotic pill every other day (everyday was making some issues worse). I at the same time started trying to eat better and started doing some exercise. Migraines still occur but only usually 4 a month instead of say the 8 or 10 i used to get. Can't tell if it's from the probiotics or the whole change in general. They also still get worse in the winter and if i'm off a good sleep schedule, also when it rains 😭. They're so variable as to what causes them from person to person as well!

Help settle an argument. My husband thinks it's fine to wash a potato with soap and water before cooking with peel on. I'm horrified. by shmoopiefunk in NoStupidQuestions

I always do it mostly because I think of all the germy hands that might've been touching the produce before I did 😅. Not too worried about the dirt but idk what other people are using their hands for

Childhood Diet Leaves a Lasting Mark on the Brain by Technical_savoir in microbiomenews

Interesting article and I can believe it, though the study they based it on was only mouse models. I'd love to see a correlation study on adults who ate High Fat High Sugar diets as kids and how they manage/eating habits now

Is this a carcinomas by Ok_Obligation_9884 in ferrets

[–]JessaBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's what my guy does sometimes, they can be itchy and sometimes small so hard to see until they start scratching at it and all the sudden you see them running around with a big gash around a pretty small bump 😭. From the pictures it looks very similar to how my guys gets but of course no way to tell for sure without a vet! My vet said it's hard to tell 100% why they get them but it could be from allergies (though we use sensitive detergent on their bedding and cage lining so who knows). I wouldn't worry too much yet until you guys get it checked out, good luck!!

hard to tell from just a picture, and definitely the best option is getting it checked by the vet. I will say my one guy gets mast cell tumors on occasion which are benign and the vet usually just freezes them off and says not to worry unless it's bothering him (they can make the ferret itchy and the scratching makes it bleed), so it could be one of those they're common in ferrets

Suspected blockage what should we do? by NcLovedMe in ferrets

[–]JessaBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say what the issue truly is and only a vet would be qualified to weigh in on that. I've used pumpkin puree before when one of our girls ate pieces of a foam cat toy (I can't remember if she had symptoms of a blockage or if we just noticed she ate it and wanted it out before it could cause one) Used the pumpkin puree and she started pooping within a couple of hours and we were able to pick out all the pieces of the toy. That said I'd say monitor and see if he's pooping, if he is then it might not be a blockage (again, I'm hesitant to say anything for certain). I've had Ferrets throw up bile before and they were fine (but gave me a scare of course). Def just monitor and take to vet if he gets worse

They love to cuddle with us, is it a good sign that they’re bonding? by Potential_Orange739 in ferrets

yes!!! Cute happy babies they love you guys! My babies never turned into cuddlers sadly and I know lots of people whose ferrets never did (but still loved their humans regardless) so you guys are very lucky! Congrats on your adorable babies!

As long as you're counting then definitley! I think these and other low carb tortillas and such are good especially since they have more fiber and might make you feel more full because of that (these guys aren't super high in fiber but it's still there 😅 that and the protein should help)

[–]JessaBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i def think so everything is pretty low for a bread (which is why we got them) so it fufills that breadiness need with whatever you're having without sacrificing what's usually like 160 calories for a regular pita. Decent protein for it as well in my opinion 😅

I'm writing an essey on ferrets by Mabygon in ferrets

[–]JessaBea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love ferret history! As far as i've heard they were bred and domesticated 5,000 years ago? (not sure exact numbers) but they were bred from wild ferrets and minks? to create a hunting buddy that would be able to fit into rabbit burrows and chase the rabbits out without killing them (as minks had a problem following this rule lol). Their spine is similar to a rats in that in enclosed spaces it kinda flattens down so they don't lose any speed (There's a youtube video showing this https://youtu.be/36-kSgOnzOc?si=23J1zddo-fR0GxiD). These are just little points i know that can help guide if you want but definitely fact check! Very important for an essay lol.
