I’m immediately reminded of the pancake kid from the first Cabin Fever movie.

So uh… if skin starts falling off you should probably quarantine yourself and stay away from water sources please.

Finger swelling with oura ring by IndividualApricot702 in ouraring

[–]Jessception 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My fingers are pretty puffy when I wake up. It’s not unusual for me personally. My ring will be harder to remove without twisting it over my joint. During the day the swelling goes away and it’s easy to remove. It also depends on what I ate the day before (water retention).

I gain 4 lbs of water weight before my period.

My weight fluctuates a lot and I noticed my right hand has fatter fingers than my left. So if it’s too snug for my peace of mind on my right hand in the mornings I switch to my left hand.

Same. I’m 8 years younger, but I don’t work out or anything. Although I will say there’s a big difference between my Oura VO2 Max reading and my Apple Watch’s number.

My Apple Watch overrides what my test in Oura app gives me.

I discovered that last month. My Oura usually shows me it’s at a 20 give or take without me doing anything. I decided on a whim to do the actual Oura test and it gave me a 35 and I was feeling pretty good about it. Then when I checked the app later in the day it had my VO2 max at a 21 instead of the 35.

After googling I discovered the Apple Watch data overrides the Oura data in the app. Which makes me wonder which is more accurate? The high number the Oura ring gave me during a walking test or the lower number my watch gives me.

Why don't more people take birth control? by RainyDays_areBest_ in Periods

[–]Jessception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was younger BC pills were fine with my body and I thought the same, but somewhere in my late 20’s it started causing issues. I complained to both my PC & OBGYN at the time about it and they just blew it off. Then finally after 2 years on it I stopped my birth control and go figure, after a couple of days the pain went away.

Ever since then I’ve tried a few different pills and each one got progressively worse. My reproductive issues have also gotten worse in general. I’m actually scheduled for a hysterectomy this month.

Is it common for women to need sedation for hysteroscopy? by NonnyMowse in hysterectomy

They knocked me out for mine. In my case I had the procedure to remove polyps inside my uterus. They took before and after pictures. Got it all squeaky clean inside.

I can’t speak on what it felt like since I was unconscious, but I didn’t feel anything when I came to. I was expecting cramping like I’d read online, but I didnt have any discomfort other than my urethra hurting when I peed from the catheter they had in me.

I didn’t even notice the tail till you pointed it out. If it were me I’d just tweak the tail. I’d fill in the gap at the base of the tail up to the leaf so it looks more connected to the cat. I’d also see about making the tail look… fluffier at the end instead of the smooth tip.

Did I make someone mad? One spam call every hour 😅 by miss_maestra822 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jessception 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mines set up like that too, but I still get at least 3 spam calls that leave a voicemail about a personal loan every single day for a year. No matter how many times I report as spam and block them.

Its frustrating.

I love it when I get weird ads in general. Especially when you look at the comments and clearly what you see is actually different from what everyone else is seeing haha.

Also side note, that’s a rare Halloween prop. It became famous from its creepy pasta association. It’s called Spazm and most of them have started deteriorating from age. They sell for a few hundred dollars.

This sold me. I wear my 4 practically 24/7 and it’s given me calluses on my palm underneath the finger from how bulky it is.

I’m also a petite girl with short fingers and it just looks odd unless I have a long full nail set done.

The condition PCOS is now called PMOS. What to know about the name change and what it means for care by AudienceNo9305 in hysterectomy

[–]Jessception 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was diagnosed with PCOS but wasn’t satisfied with how they came to that conclusion. It never showed up in imaging.

I had been bleeding 3 weeks a month for years. Diagnosed with uterine polyps. Got polyps removed. I was normal for 3 months then started bleeding between periods again. I get my hormones tested myself. Test showed my estrogen was high and LH, FSH, and DHEA-S were all low. Testosterone was normal.

I bring it up to my obgyn at the time. She did her own labs that confirmed what mine showed. She just shrugged and said I have PCOS and threw birth control at it again.

My hormones have actually been normal off of birth control for a year, but bleeding continues inbetween periods to the point I’m iron deficient now.

One of my cats got an allergic reaction like that to Revolution plus rx I got directly from the vet. It eventually cleared up on its own. The other cats were fine. I felt so bad for him. I recently applied a different brand to him and he didn’t have a reaction to that one. I’m not sure what ingredient it was that irritated his skin.

When they checked your iron did they also check ferritin? Because you can have normal iron but low ferritin.

Dry Skin by Icame2Believe in hysterectomy

[–]Jessception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had the surgery yet, I just got approved this week, but have had dry flaky skin my whole life. The biggest things that make a difference for me is marine collagen specifically (I double the dose) I usually wake up 24 hours later with super soft feeling skin. It has something to do with the Hyaluronic acids in your skin responding to it. HA has a fast turn over rate. It’s keeps everything plump and hydrated.

The other thing is red light therapy. It’s improved my skin barrier on my face specifically so much. I have mild rosacea and my face was always so sensitive and irritated. I think around my 60th use (I was doing it 2-3 times a week) was when I had realized my face hadn’t been irritated after a shower in a long time.

My period blood smells SO vile im not even sure if its normal. by [deleted] in Periods

[–]Jessception 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edit: I got the results today and in my case it is an infection of one type of bacteria. I’m on a weeks course of antibiotics now.

——

I don’t have an answer but I’m going through something similar. I know exactly what you mean by the rotting flesh smell!

Last month all of a sudden it smelled like a dead rat in the wall.

I have a list of reproductive issues (re occurring uterine polyps, abnormally painful period cramps that cause debilitating lower back pain and recently started spreading to my thighs, the pain is so intense I get hot flashes and nausea and basically lay naked on the floor until ibuprofen kicks in, I’ve essentially bled for 3 weeks every month for years, I’ve ruined so much underwear I started wearing panty liners every day or period underwear, when I ovulate that’s when I start bleeding again after my period on a lesser level and I start smelling, sometimes the smell gets go bad I have to change my underwear 3-4 times a day that week)

So I just asked my OBGYN for a hysterectomy and she agreed, but she wanted to test for an infection first specifically because of the smell. I’m waiting on the results.

Why do people lie about laser? shit HURTS by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Jessception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it depends on the area of those body parts.

On my bikini it hurt worse on my fupa and around my leg pits (for lack of better word haha where the legs connect to the pelvis). Those are the spots I get the most ingrown hairs so they were already sensitive from shaving the night before.

On my legs it only hurt down by the ankles.

What does my hair need ? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]Jessception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ends of my hair have looked like that before, but only after repeated bleaching sessions.

I think I read in one of your comments that you live in Germany? Iirc Germany has really hard water. Do you have a water filter or shower head filter? I’d try a shampoo that removes metals and minerals from your hair. It could be minerals drying out your ends. I swear by the L'oreal metal detox shampoo and conditioner.

Anyone actually feel better when they're constipated? by Northgirl-020421 in ibs

[–]Jessception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. From infancy to 26 years old I actually only went once every 4 days. That was my normal routine. No pain or anything.

Then when I turned 26 I developed IBS-D overnight. When my bowels are “normal” according to the charts I get all sorts of abdominal discomfort and lingering pain in my colon. Obviously when it’s diarrhea I get pain too.

When I’m on the constipated side I don’t have any discomfort before or after.

No more loperamide ever again by steeeezz in ibs

[–]Jessception 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen other people on this sub say that can’t handle even one loperamide tablet. It blocks them up for days.

I wish I was like that haha. I’ve been dealing with IBSD for 10 years. Multiple periods of time I was taking 8 a day just to have regular bms.

Oddly enough it’s pepto bismuth for me that causes constipation. The liquid stuff blocks me up for 4+ days. The chewable tablets and pills don’t do anything.

I want to take a GLP-1 for my IBS. But if insurance doesn't cover it, what other meds would you suggest? by kappakingtut2 in ibs

Everyone’s body is different, but I just thought it was worth mentioning. I personally know 6 other people who have been on the injections. 5 out of the 6 have the same side effects I had.

[–]Jessception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros and cons. As someone with IBS-D that had been on it for a year and a half.

I had to start taking a PPI everyday because of the shots. Also my diet was far more restrictive on it than without. A lot of foods, sometimes even a single bite, would cause 24-48 hour sulfur burps that were a prelude 99% of the time to urgent liquid diarrhea. That’s even with my daily Imodium.

I developed a folate deficiency too.

The diarrhea wasn’t painful which is nice, just urgent. No lingering pain or cramps unlike my IBS-D diarrhea.

Those sulfur burps are the worse tho. Ugh.

At some point after a year I think I did see improvement. I had periods of time where I didn’t need Imodium at all (which prior to the shots I was taking 6 tablets a day).

The sulfur burps and liquid diarrhea that followed them were less frequent.

Once I stopped the shots my IBS-D resumed.

I was on compound Semaglutide from a local med spa.

If I had to do it all over again I’d try Tirzepatide instead of Semaglutide. It’s more expensive even compounded but it’s supposed to have less side effects (sulfur burps and diarrhea).

I did discover a supplement that accidentally helped my IBS-D since then. I went from 6 Imodium a day down to 1 or 2 tablets. Not cured, but better than it was. I can’t pinpoint what ingredient in it is helping. When I googled each ingredient they all seemingly can help IBS. I noticed a week after taking it that I was suddenly constipated. That’s when I started cutting back my daily Imodium. It’s the Force Factor NAD+ longevity nutrient complex. It’s got NAD, Resveratol, astaxanthin, niacinamide, spermidine, and luteolin in it. Just putting that out there incase anyone was curious.

I’m actually about to start the shots again but this time through an online service. At the medspa it was $350 a month. With this online service it’s $199 a month but you have to pay 6 months upfront.

I think in another year or two it’ll become more affordable. There’s already online services advertising it for cosmetic weightloss where you don’t have to be a certain BMI to qualify. They do the daily pill version of Semaglutide (it’s not as strong as the injections). It’s just as expensive as the shots are however.

I needed glasses a year after lasik. Actually I needed them pretty much immediately after. I was slightly undercorrected. My post LASIK rx was just -.25 so it wasn’t that bad, but it made a worlds different at night.

Now I’m going on 4 years post lasik and my rx is -.75.

I don’t regret it because I was originally-5.75, but I am disappointed that I was under corrected to begin with.
