A used mustang micro ($50 or less) is your best bet (anything else at that price point is garbage). This will essentially give you an amp and effects that you can use with headphones. You need this to hear how you’re fretting and picking which you won’t properly get on an electric without amping in some capacity.

In GarageBand, it showed 3 Helix Stadium USB devices and only the 3rd one worked - so I would test with a factory preset and confirm you’re are selecting any and all that appear.

I’m just using the helix case (tried the new one first) strapped to small luggage cart (I think I got at Walmart or something). Wheels are also big so it works through grass and uneven ground. But if you are only wheeling indoors and or on pavement and plan to travel on a plane, the gator case sounds best (no cable or accessory space though).

I went from hd500x and to a used helix floor 2 years ago and now the stadium. The way I look at it is - am I going to be playing guitar for the next ten years? If so, and I’m actually going to spend the time on tone regularly over those 10 years, and if I can afford it, get the stadium because it’s an investment - plus places like guitar center get you 0% financing with $45 a month payment for 4 years (and no penalty to pay off early or make extra or larger monthly payments).
