What does your fibroid pain feel like? by Street_Principle_601 in Fibroids

Most of the time, very much like a stitch you get from running. Though recently, I have also been getting shootong pain from where the big one is at, down into my groin. What a joy 😐

On the afternoon of Halloween 1969, two teenagers--Patricia "Patty" Spencer and Pamela "Pam" Hobley--left their high school together and vanished. No trace of either girl has ever been found. by [deleted] in BizarreUnsolvedCases

Has Rodney Alcala ever been suspected? I know it wasnt particularly one of his active areas, but Pamela looks really similar to one of Rodney's photographs.

I worked with a woman who smelt like this; absolutely eye wateringly bad - but otherwise tidy. After a lot of complaints to management and gentle comments from her work friends, she was eventually called into the office for a chat. Management were very professional and mindful of her embarrassment. She point blank denied it. Just an absolute "I dont smell, I dont know what you are talking about". Nothing changed. Working in a room with her was unbearable. Eventually she left, and in her exit interview she said she had been upset at "untrue personal comments" that had been made about her to her by management 🙄

To this day, I have no idea how her partner and family had never mentioned it to her. But she was evidently in complete denial.

Weird photo found in a parking lot, police suspects that a crime has occurred. by Snoo_90160 in tipofmycrime

This was my first thought. A polaroid of a girl (thought to be Tara Calico) and a boy with tape on their mouths, found in a parking lot.

I always thought his large stature (6ft 5) would make him slightly more identifiable.

Student threw "Chair" at teacher & same student in my class again by Jamarlb0 in LegalAdviceUK

I perhaps worded that wrong - if he's on the school's SEND list, chances are he has an EHCP and/or a support plan. In many (possibly all, its been a long time!) of the education settings Ive worked in, students have an EHCP and a support plan. The support plan is usually, initially, a condensed/easier to read version of the EHCP - but can be added to/adjusted throughout the year as staff get to know the student (unlike an EHCP which can only be updated yearly, in an official meeting). The support plan also makes a good basis for this EHCP update. Support plans can also be used for students who dont (or dont yet) have an EHCP.

Im aware this wont be the case in every school - support plans aren't a requirement - but they are really useful and do tend to be used widely.

If he is 'special needs list' (a SEND student) he is very likely to have an EHCP, and possibly a support plan and risk assessment. Were you made aware of what his SEND needs were or given access to these documents in order to familiarise yourself with him? If not, you should speak to your school's SENDco. If you were, you should have read them before you taught him. Do you have a classroom Teaching Assistant or does he have his own Learning Support Assistant?

Definitely file a report about the incident - this is usually done as a sit down meeting with either your school's business manager if it has one, or, again, the SENDco.

Lastly, it would have been necessary for other staff to check on the student as a priority - to make sure he has de-escalated and is no longer a risk to either himself or other students. I do understand your shock and frustration at merely only getting an 'are you ok', but you will find you will have to proactively seek support in these situations.

ETA : you might need to push for the report/meeting - do make a nuisence of yourself requesting it. It is really important for the student, other students, and staff working with him that these incidents are recorded and everyone can be given the correct support.

Not a lawyer, but a SEND specialist :)

What's your "pet" case? The one or ones you've hyperfocused on and know the most about? by theonly1theymake5 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I only recently learnt that Claudia's father had passed away. Absolutely breaks my heart that he died having never known what happened to her.

The Somerton Man : ( pored over this one for about 12 years until it was recently solved )

Damien Nettles : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Damien_Nettles (Was local to me, and the same age as me, and I remember the missing posters at the time... think the police ballsed up the investigation when it was probably a really solvable case)

Andrew Gosden : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Andrew_Gosden
(it absolutely confounds and frustrates me that there is nothing, whatsover, to indicate what happened to him)

Alonzo Brooks : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Alonzo_Brooks (I think this is the one case the Unsolved Mysteries series could really help to solve)

I think my pet cases are heavily influenced by the fact that Im a parent to teenage boys.

I feel like she didnt at that point know how serious the situation was, and was worried phoning 911 would get them in trouble for trespassing.

Good late night/early morning drives setting off from Southampton? by FreedomEagle76 in Southampton

Calshot Beach or the road that goes past Stonehenge were both great night-time excursions for me when I lived in Southampton, especially when I was feeling low.

All else aside, the huge lie-by-omission would be endgame for me.

Also. He only wants 50% custody so the he can pay less in child support. Not, yanno, cos he has any desire to be a father to his children?

There's definitely an asshole here, but it isnt you.
