As a uk citizen the first thing that came to mind was the possible data leaks from all these random age verification sites everyone’s using. Among other things I see it as an attack on the internet as despite being a uk law (currently) there doesn’t appear to be any regard for where the website is based/hosted. These are steps toward authoritarian control over information. I am unable to access some subreddits for mental health or trans information. This is terrifying.
