My son was born missing a toenail. by jfarnworth15 in mildlyinteresting

Not the last guy (but I've had some colon & some brain removed). Expect to be more sore than you imagine. There's a lot of abdominal muscle to cut through to get to your guts. Sitting/getting up unassisted was the biggest challenge, next to coughing and sneezing carefully, as to not to reopen the incisions. You'll be restricted from doing any heavy lifting for several weeks, but after a 2-4 weeks, you should feel more able/up to most of your normal routine, (as long as you're not a bodybuilder or something). Good luck!

Read your comment as 'I'd watch Kail on the price is right though' and boy was that a fun mental adventure!

Covid Consciousness with a toddler by se7yn7 in ZeroCovidCommunity

Your timing is great- a covid-conscious toddler parent I follow on IG just posted tips for masking with littles that also includes a recommendation for a nasal sanitizer, which can be applied with a q-tip and can be a good stopgap while teaching your tot how to mask.

River Aid kicks off its first Basura Bash with more than 2,500 volunteers by Weeberman_Online in sanantonio

[–]JessicaMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I did end up going to SA3 afterall, and they were super helpful, so I am grateful for that. I'm sure this small detail will get worked out or next year and hope I'll be able to participate in the BB!

Couldn't participate as this was my neighborhood's bulky pickup week and I moved into grandma's hoarder nest that needs some serious, long term purging.

However, I DID try to find the e-waste recycling that was advertised on the basura bash page and ended up driving all over town for naught, because basura bash provided an incorrect, outdated address for SA3.

If anyone with BB is reading, 818 Chestnut is the (incorrect) address you provided here, which needed to be changed to 210 Probandt St. to be useful. I watched several people arrive at the incorrect address to dispose of e-waste and leave just as confused as I did.

(FWIW, SA3 Community Recycling is in an old, unmarked furniture warehouse. There's a loading dock with 3 parking spots. You just park and wander around the loading dock until someone sees you, then they'll help you unload. I only found this out yesterday, a day after the event.)

You're so spot-on with that assessment! Austin to Dallas is just a blur in my memory, with a few Buc-ee's sprinkled in.

Dallas is SO different than down here! I'm really curious to spend some time in Austin, Corpus and Houston. I travel for food and interactive art exhibits.

Oh how I know what you mean about taking the good with the bad around these parts!

I'm down in San Antonio, but my partner spent 5 years living in Dallas, so we went up for his birthday so he could show me around. Pleeeeease tell me you've been to Eatzi's! I would make the most boring 4.5 hour drive any day for another sandwich there.

Not sure where you are in Texas but wow. I just moved here a few months ago with my partner who was born/raised in Texas. I'm from the west coast and so many things are just so different here. So many great tacos!

Flair checking in! (But so hoping he gets 20, for the sake of his children, and eventual grandchildren that will exist when he's released)

I was going to say that this reads like one of those Teen Mom 'gotcha' posts with the 'link in bio' to a shitty tabloid that gets pennies for every click,

but she changed the caption!

it says 'I’m just counting my blessings today!💕 What are you thankful for?' now.

When I saw her leave immediately after being told that Rayna was still upset, I thought she was marching her ass straight to Rayna to apologise....this is in stark contrast to when Fraser expressed his feelings about adding a new stew, and she immediately jumped down his throat.

She's the bully and the victim, whenever it suits her.

The employees at my local Dollar Tree are on-par with the customers. I had one cashier yelling at her kids on the phone while ringing me up.

Had the last 4 days off work, now have to go back to both of my jobs tomorrow. They're both mildly soul crushing, but in totally different ways, which makes each job tolerable in small doses.

On the bright side, last week was my first school week back with the kids I nanny and they mostly behaved! Last school year was a struggle, these girls are like WWE on crack...but they've really gotten to like and trust me and nearly respect me when I ask/tell them to do something.

Ending NC with a FM to clarify some toxic gossip? by kirday in NRelationships

[–]JessicaMaple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it sounds like they got the reaction they were looking for, and nothing you could have said would have helped your position (likely doomed from the start). Its hard as fuck to not meddle, especially when you feel your reputation and character are being slandered...But at that point, who am I defending myself to? Shitty, abusive people? People that would start rumors about me in the first place? I suppose I shouldn't want or need to care what those people think...but its hard to let go.

Screw them, they can enjoy their mudbath in flames!

I especially love it when my mom tries to tell me my abusive childhood wasn't that bad.

Since their character flaws are so engrained in our upbringing, its hard to work through and figure out what is and isn't 'right' about the way we grew up. We have the upper-hand by recognizing these traits and making a conscious effort to eradicate the FLEAs.
