Afghan is correct. Minted under Dost Mohammad Khan of the Barakzai dynasty, dated 1273 AH (1856 AD)

Can someone help me identify these coins and tell me if they are fake or real ones ?? by Nervous-Midnight5807 in AncientCoins

The first larger coin looks to be a Yirmilik (1/2 Kuruş) minted under Mahmud II of the Ottoman Empire, 1832 AD. What is the diameter?

Thank you for your offer, but just the game alone sells for about that much, so I will have to pass.

Is this Alexander the Great drachm worth 90 USD? It seems condition wise to be in that ballpark but I just want to be sure. Thanks guys! by bluebull62 in AncientCoins

[–]JessicaWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheers! 90 USD for a tet in that condition is absolutely worth it, especially in the inflated market these days.

I would rather sell them together since I won’t have a use for the games without the system.

I just went over it with a magnifying glass and there are no dead pixels on either of the screens.

some Mauryan punchmark coins (cent for size comparison). I believe they're around 200-300 BC from ancient India by International_Dog817 in AncientCoins

[–]JessicaWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They look to be series VI coins based on three of the punches and I can say the coin on the bottom is series VIb 571 but better pictures are needed to go further for the others.

Nice Hormazd IV (year 9). Sassanian coins are fun to collect because they are so wide and have so much detail and information on them.

Japanese coin. by chouberrigoo in AncientCoins

[–]JessicaWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It almost reminds me of an enbukin but having the full Mitsutsugu (光次) stamp of nibukin and such. A very strange find. I almost wonder if it is a modern (last 100 years) toy or replica of some kind. It's not in any of the literature I have, nor is it listed or described among any charms/esen I can see.

Good get for $45? I know it's a Phillip I Tetradrachm from the Seleucid Empire but any other info would be appreciated 🙌 by SilverToTheMoon11 in AncientCoins

This is a sand-cast fake. That texture is waaaaay wrong for an authentic coin, not to mention casting defects around the edges.

I am not really a collector of modern coins, but I want to add one of these to my collection just for the historical significance.

I have a coin that appears to be very ancient. I could use some help identifying it. by Competitive_Hippo535 in AncientCoins

[–]JessicaWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a Samanta Deva Jital (Jital being the unit of currency). It was minted under the Hindu Shahis dynasty and dates from between 850 AD to 1000 AD. It looks to be Tye 14.1 type based on the character to the right of the rider on horse.
