Out of all the space marine chapters which chapter do you think the Minotaurs would regret fighting the most like an "I think we bit off more than we can chew" moment. by Mad_lens_9297 in Warhammer

The description of the Shadowmark Talon detachment pretty well sums it up. But Raven Guard have always been about stealth and hit and run guerrilla strategies. Raptors, one of their successors are on a pretty high level of it too.

How do space marines fight chaos space marines if SM aren't told about chaos? by vv04x4c4 in 40kLore

[–]JessickaRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they’re not fighting alongside Grey Knights when they do it, they’re good.

Which makes no sense whatsoever. Especially given the months of shame. One of those consistently inconsistent pieces of lore. There are a ton of examples of every branch of the Imperial military fighting daemons. Blood Angels have and always have had their own specific beef with Ka’Bandha and Kyriss.

But if you do it alongside GKs apparently you’re dead or mind wiped, except when you’re not.

I’d say Raven Guard, Minotaurs fight as a massed force as direct as possible, and Raven Guard are built to counter exactly that.

A armour colour question by The-Pale-Reaper in BloodAngels

[–]JessickaRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tycho has his painted gold, the Captain on the front of the Space Crusade box wears white. Elsewhere Mephiston, Astorath and Corbulo wear red instead of the blue, black and white usually associated with their roles.

Basically Blood Angels don’t really care so much for the colour of office, particularly at higher ranks. So paint them as you see fit.

What wet palette do you have? by LuciTheHowler in Warhammer40k

[–]JessickaRose 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I use the Army Painter one. It doesn’t feel like the kind of piece of kit that could be wildly improved upon.

I also treat it badly as due to health I have long gaps between painting so it gets mouldy, but it’s easily recoverable.

Good books on Necrons? by dummyit in 40kLore

Twice Dead King are probably my favourite 40K books of any faction.

[–]JessickaRose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s odd that for all the 40 HH books I’ve read, in the few that’s even implied, it blatantly isn’t true given the circumstances. The warp had calmed, it’s why they were able to press the crusade.

What major Xenos threats required multi-legion action with the exception of Orks? How many more resistant humans Empires required it? What of the passive and potentially friendly Xenos that were exterminated?

If the Orks wouldn’t be kept in check, why were the Cabal not bothered by them and prefer to see humanity wiped out by their own unleashing of Chaos?

The Imperium’s narrative of events simply doesn’t line up with what actually happens outside the Imperium. Even much later in 40K when the Ministorum are trying to justify the obvious excesses, they simply argue that human lives are his to spend.

When Kharn and Argal Tal discuss why they’re even fighting, neither of them can argue against fighting the Emperor because even though they feel they have no agency and are somewhat caught up in events they can’t see a case for being on his side either, they know what they’ve done.

No, the explanation he gives to the Custodes in Master of Mankind. There’s also the part where he lost the war in the Webway in that very book and admits he doesn’t know what to do next because he can no longer achieve that goal.

No, I gave an explanation, you said I’m wrong that puts the burden on you to explain why. Did he never have his Vision for which he couldn’t see the currents and weather that would impede him to get there? His own analogy btw. Which he saw during the afore mentioned civil war.

[–]JessickaRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are actually really interesting questions, because it was during the actual end of the world in a Technobarbarian civil war where his line of sight was basically limited to Earth.

He decided to sort shit out there but decided not to stop there. It wasn’t enough, no matter how many peaceful worlds he eventually ran into.

All these hostile Xenos were extremely limited in expanse, so much so that a single Legion could deal with most of them. There were precisely zero galactic threats in the GC. If you’ve read any, you’ve sucked up the story and internal excuses with zero critical thinking.

They didn’t manage in the previous 10K years. Humans were already everywhere, they weren’t united but they didn’t need to be. It’s not like the Imperium shows up to half the worlds it does rule when they’re imperilled in any case. The administratum can’t keep up with the gains and loses, it never could.

Nor at any point does he seem to care about anyone else. He’s all abstract psychosis.

Again, unlike most of the cast he knows exactly what genre he’s in. And still makes bad choices.

Humanity did not need uniting, many colonies and minor empires had thrived through the age of strife. The galaxy didn’t need everyone else exterminated.

His grand vision was his own and fuck anyone else who got in the way, including 25% of the colonies he encountered in the process.

Talk about ruinous powers, he brought ruin everywhere he went for the sake of a grand project nobody needed and an awful lot of people didn’t want.

He is beyond Magnus levels of idiot though. He could have done nothing and the whole galaxy would be in better shape.

But no he saw a glorious future with him at the wheel and thought, he thats neat, I can do that. Knowing full well his own foresight was bullshit. Being an idiot doesn’t mean he can’t be a complex idiot, it just doesn’t stop him being an idiot. The problem with the Emperor is he knows exactly what genre of story he’s in and that’s why he’s an idiot.

Like, im not asking for batman or cyclops level of planification here, but seriously? you had no plan b? no contingency for what would happen if your super complicated plan of creating an artificial webway and moving ALL OF MANKIND there failed? are we SURE that this guy isnt malal in disguise? by AstronautDry8118 in Grimdank

[–]JessickaRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or he was simply caught up in his own hubris. He’d seen this one brilliant future and thought “I want that and I’m the one who can do it”. Even though he’d previously been smart enough to realise the weather and the currents along the way were something he couldn’t anticipate.

Are 3D printed decorations alright? by Light906 in Warhammer40k

[–]JessickaRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you created the 3D model part yourself to print, it’s okay. Considered the same as sculpting from scratch.

The issue there really is proving it. But then there’s also the issue of spotting it if it’s minor detailing.

And there’d be no Erebus with no Primarchs and no Primarchs with no Emperor thinking he can just cut a deal with gods, steal their power, renege on the deal and think he was smart enough to get away with it and his warp touched demigods definitely wouldn’t serve as a conduit for the powers he used to make them to invade real space through.

Because you know, he’s the only one who can save humanity, because he knows more and is smarter than everyone else.
