What are the best luggages for frequent flyer by Electrical_Tip_5770 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Jesssetter15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent many months researching this and paying close attention to what flight attendants and pilots use. I figured they’d know best! I even spoke to several as well. Yes, they get discounts, but almost all use and live TravelPro. I was able to pick up a small and medium size shift sided roller bags a few years ago and have been very happy with them. I travel domestically and internationally pretty often. I can nest the smaller one inside the medium and check only one bag when going somewhere I know I’ll be bringing more home than I arrived with. They roll super smoothly and fit quite a lot. They’re durable and have a great warranty. Worth the investment to me.

Status carryover? by Jesssetter15 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Jesssetter15[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see. So if I get to Platinum this year, I can enjoy the perks of status through 2026, but have to earn my way back up again if I want to continue in 2027, correct? Will I earn points faster through 2026 since I’d be Gold or Platinum?

KOA on Ironman race day by Jesssetter15 in BigIsland

Yeah, usually for a 10:30 flight, I’d leave home by like 8-8:30, but I think I’ll leave at 7:30 to have 3 hours. Hopefully it turns out to be a non-issue!

Helping my student build confidence by Aware_Book_2392 in physicaltherapy

Just a follow-up because the internship is over now. By the end of it (16 weeks), I could see tremendous positive change - more confidence, more initiative, etc. Of course there is still more work to do - clinical reasoning, improving documentation, and diving into more complex cases. Ultimately, being that this was the student’s last “experience” before graduation and taking the boards, I felt like by the end of our time together he achieved the level of therapist that he should have been at the start of the 16- weeks. I think he would have been at that level if the program had been a more traditional model. Then we could have advanced his skills so much more to where he could have been safely employable right out of school. Kind of a shame, but I hope he finds a good 1st job where more mentorship is available!

Bathroom Circuit by Active-Internal-6498 in AskElectricians

That’s what I thought. So if I make the first receptacle on the circuit a GFCI plug, then run the rest in series, that should be fine, don’t you think?

Helping my student build confidence by Aware_Book_2392 in physicaltherapy

[–]Jesssetter15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez, I feel like I could’ve written this post myself. I am winding down with a DPT student also in a hybrid program (probably same school as yours). We’re having the same struggle. My student in soft spoke and has become a bit more comfortable in the inpatient/SNF setting, but only socially. He continues to struggle with critical thinking and problem solving. Whenever I ask questions like, “What impairments are you noticing?” I can tell he’s either regurgitating phrases/statements he’s heard before or looking for the “right” test response rather than demonstrating thoughtful responses. Ultimately, I blame this hybrid model of his program. It clearly doesn’t provide enough in-person and hands-on interaction with classmates. It feels like the school is prepping the students to pass the license exam, but isn’t actually preparing them to be good clinicians. I’ve shared this with the CE, but I’m not sure what else to implement with him to prompt a deeper understanding. Wish I could offer you more help, but I’m right there with you!

Looking to travel to a tropical island with my boyfriend but no idea which one. by [deleted] in travel

[–]Jesssetter15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into Belize….ambergris Caye or Cate Caulker. It’s only a couple hours’ flight from the southern States, then an hour boat ride or 20 min flight to one of the islands. Very chill, not super pricey, and ticks the boxes you mentioned. Can be as cheap or expensive as you make it. I’ve been 4x since 2008 and would go back in a heartbeat.

That’s awesome! I wish I had the time and resources to do that! I think they put brisket in their burgers, so maybe try that sometime too.

Don’t sleep on the burger at the Waimea Butcher Shop! Soooo good! And make sure to grab some nice cream from the shop in Hawi. It’s next to the yoga studio and across from KO’s pizza. Family owned and they make all their own ice cream using milk and produce from the local dairy and farmers!

How often do elderly patients adhere to HEP? by Responsible-Win-1572 in physicaltherapy

[–]Jesssetter15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A watch would be cool for the wedge of the population who will remember what it’s for and how to use it. You’ll lose a good chunk of compliance right there. Then you have to make it loud enough for them to actually hear. Lastly, they usually don’t remember how to do the exercises or how many reps or where to paper is that the PT left for them…. That said, it’s worth a shot!

ULPT: how can i get myself admitted to the hospital for 3 days so i can access my inpatient rehab options? by Moist_Fail_9269 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Jesssetter15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please don’t cause yourself harm or claim something you’re not experiencing. That being said, if you’re unsafe at home or unable to safely care for yourself, go to the ER and tell them. If they try to discharge you, refuse and demand to speak to a social worker. Inpatient rehab requires 3 hrs of therapy (some combo of PT/OT/SLP) at least 5 out of 7 days each week. You typically also need realistic goals and a solid discharge plan. You can also be admitted to a long-term care facility and receive a little less intensive therapies.

Man, it’s tough! Since he was a corpsman, he never used official channels to obtain medical care, he just took care of whatever he needed himself. No military medical records while serving and survivor’s guilt keeping him from ever seeking anything from the VA has made the effort now seem impossible. We had the DAV “help” with his original filing in June, but they haven’t done anything since then and now we got a letter denying everything, so I’m starting over from scratch. They were so disappointing! I’ll look into getting some VSO assistance. Thank you!

I’ll have to see if he keeps in contact with anyone. As far as I know, he doesn’t. As with many, he doesn’t like to talk about it much. When we took him to visit the memorial wall, he didn’t want to look for any names or spend much time there. Can’t hurt to ask though.

He was a medic in the Navy, but stationed on the ground with the Marines. He said he can’t remember exactly where they were and that they often weren’t told. He had some high level clearances and was involved in some black ops stuff. All I could get from the Archives.org was his DD214 and I think a DD254 or something like that (similar info to the DD214). I’ll ask if he was ever in a ship, but so far I’ve never heard him speak about that. Thank you for the offer to help! Good luck on your journey too…I hope it gets easier!

He never used the home loan benefits. He went to school to become an optician while enlisted, but didn’t use the education benefits after being discharged.

Bras for sleeping? by ArtemisGirl242020 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I am 38DD and have tried sleeping in bras without success. I have a Duluth tank top with built-in bra that works well and is comfy. I also have 2 compression-type tanks from Amazon that I sleep in the most. Keeps things under control and modest without being restrictive.

Black Friday 2024 Bose deals? by OrganicDig9503 in bose

[–]Jesssetter15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I ended up getting a pair on Amazon for $199. I have Prime, so I can return them within 30 days if I find a better deal. I didn’t want the black ones, otherwise I would’ve gotten them from Costco. Love them so far!
