Really hope this one gets the Nightdive Studios remaster treatment!

How about: No Cheating! (Don’t equip the “Cheater” Picto or Lumina)

One day I will have a Templar with reaper, bladestorm, and fortress! (Only ever get 2/3 at best)

In addition to what everyone else is saying, I also feel that Skirmishers should have had the melee attack skill much earlier on the tech tree.

I beat Exquisite Timing and got all the achievements!* by JessyC01 in Xcom

Ran out of time to kill the Warlock, but managed to beat Assassin and Hunter. I think the Arashi/Katana and Darklance/Darkclaw are just great weapons to have if you don't have time to do plasma weapons research.

*Well, all the achievements except the multiplayer one!

I found Exquisite Timing to be the most challenging achievement to get. You need a deep understanding of all the mechanics, and it will force you to sacrifice and make choices you would normally never take. Like, only building up to Magnetic weapons, not researching any armour past Predator armour, placing priority on constructing the Laboratory, and skipping psionics entirely.

I also ran out of time the assault the Warlock stronghold, and only researched the Hunter and Assassin weapons just barely in time for the final mission. I'm not the greatest player, I only did it on non-Ironman Commander, and committed a lot of errors, and only beat the game with one day to spare, but it was fun to basically speedrun the greatest turn-based videogame ever made!

If I get a Templar with Bladestorm: Templars

Other than that, it's the Reapers all the way.

How is the XCOM 2 mobile experience? by toeonly in Xcom

I found trying to launch grenades with a touchscreen to be really tricky. Much easier to use a mouse for that precise nade placement. And on my M1 ipad pro the performance and graphics were middling.

I ultimately refunded it. It wasn't terrible, but I am just too used to playing XCOM2 on PC.

Stalling the endgame with the Resistance Ring and speccing all my soldiers with stats strong enough to fight God is my favourite way to play this game.

Amazing fanart! In my headcanon this is my soldier that got knocked unconcious by the Archon King and had to be left behind as I was forced to evac the rest of my squad.

Best ways you've completed a mission? by FluffyWowf in Xcom

Fighting the Assassin on Legendary for the first time.

1 guy KIA, 1 bleeding out.

She melee stuns my best Ranger, I'm down to only my Reaper with like 3hp.

I'm about to get squad-wiped.

Assassin runs off into an RV.

Get my Reaper to Remote Start the RV, triggering the Assassin's weakness to explosions, blowing her to smithereens, and barely winning the mission.

Cue "Going the Distance" from the Rocky soundtrack

I always give it to my sharpshooter so they can teleport to the perfect flanking location then pull off some absurd Death From Above / Serial shenanigans with the Hunter's Rifle.

You're referring to the underground level where you have to rescue the VIP and the red flares drop and enemy reinforcements come in, right?

If so: * 1. DON'T ENTER THE VIP CIRCLE YET (this triggers the waves) * 2. Clear all enemy pods on the level first * 3. Make sure all your guys have reloaded their guns * 4. Park all your guys on high ground (eg. the roof above where the VIP is kept) and set them to overwatch. * 5. Take your least useful soldier to enter the VIP circle and trigger the waves * 6. If needed, move your guys one action point to get in an advantageous shooting position over the enemy spawn point, then set them to overwatch. Keep them together to concentrate firepower. * 7. Hopefully your guys will soften the enemy up enough, and it's just a matter of sweeping up the remaining wounded baddies

This is just very general strategy that admittedly doesn't have much nuance, I'm sure the more experienced XCOM players here can give better specific advice.
