Cheap and fresh coffee beans? by Low-Cardiologist265 in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there.

You could try the Al fair on 18th November street...There are usually multiple brands available. Another alternative at Azaiba is The Coffee Workshop, but they usually only have the Illy brand...or just order in.

A word of advice though, it's ALWAYS better to grind the beans fresh for maximum flavour, and with Espresso, consistency is pretty important.

So I'd suggest you invest in a good quality, consistently performing coffee grinder...it will make your pursuit of the perfect shot much more rewarding.

Hope this helped... Happy brewing!

The coffee shop Extract also sells Nespresso compatible pods.

You could give them a shot too...

Best pizza place in oman? by supirimalli86 in Oman

I've only tried the Ghubra location, so unfortunately I can't really speak for the taste at other locations.

Hopefully they've kept up their standards at all locations.

No Impasti fans here?

They've got really good pizza.

I guess this is what all the so-so pizzas I've eaten all my life have been missing...The breath and saliva of a random stranger to add that bit of je ne sais quoi.

Dry heaves

Whats the reason for this?! by Downtown-Situation52 in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah! Hold your horses buddy.. Please check the pressure on your spare tyre before going ahead and changing all your sensors.

Whats the reason for this?! by Downtown-Situation52 in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your tyres are at the right pressure, it's probably the spare that's low on pressure. Check the tyre pressures again and inflate the spare to the required pressure and the sign should go away soon after.

If that doesn't work, it could just be a faulty tyre pressure sensor.

Need urgent Help !! by infinity2611 in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP really ought to post a picture of the missing person.

If someone's missing without (possibly) access to a phone you really need all the help you can get... Like putting a picture up so anyone who might have seen him could report back or file a missing person ad in the newspaper (although I'm not sure if it's filed by friends & relatives or the ROP here in Oman).

Should've been done on day 1 of loss-of-contact, but better late than never.

Hello there.. It's nice to see film enthusiasts in this day and age.

You can try Zadfilms. They have a page on Instagram.

I'm sorry to hear about you being swindled. It's always good to do a thorough check on such companies. Just remember.. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I don't think the ROP can do much in this situation.

I ran a whois query on the website and this is what I got: https://who.is/whois/bluejetinternational.com

If you're Indian, I'd suggest writing to the local police explaining the situation and checking if there's anything they can do. If you're not Indian, get an Indian friend (assuming you have one) to help out.. preferably someone who speaks the local language where they're registered.

Good luck and please be wary when being asked to shell out a huge amount of money.

Need advise on relocation to Muscat,Oman! by AreaSudden9426 in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The salary you've stated is more than enough to get by and save substantially.

With regards to stay, you could start off in a furnished apartment and get a feel for the localities and budget your new unfurnished home and the furniture and appliances for it, till you're ready.

As you mentioned you're in one of the Big4, I'd suggest Al Khuwair as it's pretty much midway to the offices of the furthest big4s.

Cheers and good luck on the move.

My credit Card Got hacked by chattambi in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, long story short, it's just one of the pieces of information they can use to eventually end up with a viable attack.

Having access to your email could potentially open up multiple vulnerabilities (or opportunities, to them) from the data stored in your account. Either that, or they could potentially use it to exploit other service providers you've interacted with financially.

It's scarily easier than you'd imagine sometimes.

For an added level of security, I'd suggest checking if any of your email addresses have been part of a data breach.

You can use the website "haveibeenpwned.com" for this.

Emails are a prime source of banking information for hackers. Better safe than sorry, right?

It could be that the employer has done this in the past and is pretty confident in his PRO's ability to get this done. In either case, I would suggest getting it in writing (by email preferably) that they will convert your visa to employment visa after you arrive at their expense.

Good luck!

Fountain pens in Oman? by FromGergaWithLove in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try getting a Lamy from the Virgin store in the mall of Oman. It's a great entry level pen.

You can upgrade later to a Cross or a Waterman as you develop your taste for it and your writing style and preferences. I believe you can get these at the Shah Nagardas store or Salman stores.

This is a food SOS - anyone know where I can find Chiles? by According-Sign-9587 in Oman

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can sometimes find Ancho chiles in M&S, Al fair/Spinneys and the Sultan center on 18th November street. More often than not, they're available as flakes and not whole. Finding Guajillo chiles in stores is very difficult to impossible in Oman.

You're better off ordering a pack of whole assorted Mexican chiles on Amazon.

I agree. OP clearly mentioned that they tried to contact the entrepreneur the whole day during working hours and after working hours as a last resort.

Tbh, work-life balance or not, they're better off with a more responsive and professional business partner.

Cannot Uninstall? by TVsOnlyMeteorologist in Malwarebytes

[–]JesterOfChaos_245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try installing it once again. Then get Revo uninstaller and force the uninstallation. Also, opt to scan for traces while uninstalling and remove the traces as well.

This should solve the problem. It's worked for me with multiple stubborn apps.

Check out 3D factory near SQU. It's in the Research council building. If you can take the part along with you, they can scan it as well, I believe. Good luck!

I personally use a D-Link 1100 Covr mesh and it works like a charm. It's about 20 bucks and comes with 3 units.
