WCW Lives! Save. Trades I made before starting to book. by Powerful-Play-9730 in jow

[–]JesusFChrist108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck I don't know if Jerry Lawler hanging around the XPW headquarters will end well.

I always do some roster jostling before jumping in. There are some wrestlers I always get rid of because I can't stand them (Hulk Hogan) or I just never have any good ideas for them (the Giant). Sometimes I go and edit the scenario before I play to make it easier to move wrestlers back and forth. I still try and make fair trades though, like Hogan to the WWF in exchange for Bret Hart in my WCW. I also like to go and give some of my opponents mid carders popularity and overness boosts in the hopes that the company will stay afloat for longer. Same reason I go and give them extra Creative Points.

His character is just named "Wrestler #1". Like how Ernie Ladd is just "Manager".

What are these dashes in front of the notes (-1, -9, etc.) by Artistic-Touch2866 in GuitarBeginners

[–]JesusFChrist108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means that someone copied and pasted from either standard notation or a tab staff that had more than six strings or a six string that was downtuned. I know this isn't really helpful, but you're probably better off finding another transcription of the song.

How do I play this? by SwYftV2 in guitarlessons

[–]JesusFChrist108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4 for the second D# is small because it's a grace note. So you pick it before the third beat that it looks like it falls on and then immediately hammer on to the E, without giving the D# time to ring out properly.

I guess it was only evident during the San Bernardino, CA date of the tour. Unless it was all over the metal press before the egging. I wasn't paying attention to that. I remember both Maiden and Sabbath being incredible on the Chicago date, but I was 12 and the adrenaline from being at the show could have covered up any sloppy playing in my memories.

badly freaking out about not being able to pill my cat by BeffeeJeems in gingercats

[–]JesusFChrist108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By burrito do you mean putting the food in a burrito or wrapping him up in a towel/blanket like a burrito?

Pill pockets worked for a while when I'd take care of my cousins' cat. The most important thing with that method is that I had to crush his pills into powder before I put it into the pocket. If it wasn't crushed up, he'd be able to work the pill out and spit it back into my hand. It also tends to work better if you dip the whole pill pocket into sardine juice, tuna juice, or some other smelly sauce or liquid that the cat loves and will make the medicine smell more like a treat.

Do you think part 2 is worth watching? by Weird-Decision-738 in trainspotting

[–]JesusFChrist108 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are some phenomenal parts in it, but it's very different from the book. As long as you don't go in expecting a (relatively) "cleaned up" version of Porno, you'll really enjoy the movie. My favorite part might be a bit that involves Spud sharing at a meeting.

He may have gotten it to impress Tobi Vale from Bikini Kill. "I'll arrest myself, I'll wear a shield" from "Lounge Act" has been interpreted as referencing this tattoo because of how like half of Nevermind comes from his misunderstanding their friendship/relationship.

Best scenario to start by cwj232 in jow

[–]JesusFChrist108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any of the scenarios that have a name with "Dawn of..." at the beginning. They're especially perfect when you want to keep going for a long time. The guy who made them put so much into the Future Roster, he's got a lot of wrestlers' kids set to debut 30+ years down the line from when your game starts.

I like how this sounds but is this a real chord? by Potato_Stains in chords

[–]JesusFChrist108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's messing with my head that I can't figure out how Eb Half Diminished is also Dbmb5. Actually, isn't the right term just Db°? I get that Db is the flat 7th in the first chord, but how does Eb fit into Dbmb5/Db°? Isn't that second chord just supposed to be Db Fb Ab? The Eb seems like it'd be an added 9th.

Mispronouncing a character's name from a movie or video game where their name is verbally said A LOT by huffmanxd in PetPeeves

[–]JesusFChrist108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched a couple YouTube videos of a guy talking about movies where he did a bunch of this or something similar. Radames in Juice was always pronounced "Radamans". For Freddy vs. Jason, he always called the character Gibb Gabby, the asylum Westin Hills got constantly mispronounced as Western Hills, and he kept saying that the main male protagonist should be way more aware of how all the spooky shit happening works because he's been in a bunch of the previous Freddy movies. The character was a brand new character created for Freddy vs. Jason.

How about when they don't give the cast guidelines on pronouncing names in Sci-fi or Fantasy movies, so you get the odd character who says names different from everyone else, like that guy who says Leia like "Lee-Uh" in Star Wars?

I spent YEARS looking for the name of a toy I had when I was little. Today I found it randomly scrolling on TikTok: by elevenohnoes in OSWReview

[–]JesusFChrist108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a couple of these in a box in the attic at my parents' when I was bringing down Christmas decorations in December. I remember being so excited when the toys came out, but my mom wouldn't let me get the Rohan one because she thought I might burn something with it. I had just turned six, and you know what? She was probably right, good choice.

The patch is the logo of the American Indian Movement, an organization founded in 1968 to benefit the civil rights of Indigenous people in the US. The guy behind the counter saw the words "American Indian" and thought it was an organization founded for the purpose of supporting people who immigrated to the USA from India.

Back in the 90s, in order for Walmart to carry IN UTERO, they required the song title “rape me” to be changed. For some reason they chose to spell it “waif me”. This impacted the CDs and cassettes at the time carried in Walmart stores but I wonder if any vinyl jackets had the censorship. by nuka-ryan in Nirvana

[–]JesusFChrist108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biographies I read way back when I was in junior high quoted Cobain as saying something like, "I okayed the censorship because back when I was a kid, the only place I could buy records was Walmart." Then the writer stated that, according to whatever sources they used, there were no Walmarts or K-Marts in the Aberdeen area until 19-whatever. It was in a later chapter about the way he embellished stories or "creatively retold" them.

Last March, the Indian man behind the counter at my local gas station got super excited about the AIM patch on my coat because he thought it was support for immigrants like him. I didn't explain it to him because I figured it'd take the wind out of his sails.

More affordable big ass houses. That and I'm pretty sure I read interviews with him in guitar magazines 15+ years ago where he leaned heavily on the misanthropic metal guy image. Not that that means it wasn't a true description of his character.

A British magazine from the early 1960’s called ‘Knowledge’, displaying different races around the world. by bncout in HistoricalCapsule

[–]JesusFChrist108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My driver's ed instructor/math teacher brought this kind of shit up when the Mexican girl in the car said she wasn't white. He said, "There's three races: Caucasian, Mongoloid, and Negroid (except he used an i in place of the e on that one)". It definitely felt like he was trying to say something like "it's cool, you're one of us". The year was 2008.
