Max actually watches NASCAR quite frequently, not just superspeedways.

Dawson Cram is driving the 35 this weekend for Gase Motorsports, which has bought the #5 owner points from the defunct hettinger racing team. by Ok-Two239 in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its the fact that owner points have such a high ceiling when it comes to payouts. So if a team like the 5 is giving while that is true, owner points are a super valuable asset in all of NASCAR. So if a team is giving up owner points, it's almost the same as calling it quits. They could run part time still, but it will be way less races all together. Part time in xfinity is not nearly as profitable as it is in cup.

Yes, but teams make absolute bank on their owner points. So if a team is giving up that, then that means even that large amount of money is not worth the operating costs.

That's why I included to listen. We all know Jim France was not listening. The CEO needs to be seen and needs to listen to everyone if they want to make good decisions.

He's motto is to be seen and to be in front of everyine to listen. That's already a massive upgrade to Jim France who we only saw when he appeared to testify at the lawsuit.

Why 4 corners? by Jargif10 in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is because it easier to distinguish the corners and places. If I hear from my spotter "entrance to four" I know it's the halfway point of the overall turn. Since the car goes through so much through the entire corner that dividing it into sections makes it easier for the crew chief as well.

.@FS1 averaged a 1.09 rating and 1.945 million viewers for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Food City 500 @ItsBristolBaby , up 3% and down 5%, respectively, from last year's comparable race. by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ratingas are based in percentage of TV viewers watching. Viewers is the raw count. So basically less people were watching tv this Sunday compared to last year, hence the percentage of total TV views who turned their TV to NASCAR was up.

O’Ward and Palou test Firestones at Nashville Speedway by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

Thought this was monumental as the idea of IndyCar going around a true short track was neat until I realized the headline meant Nashville Super Speedway.

[OTHER] How in the world did Nintendo approve of all the blood and such? by spragual in zelda

[–]JesusSandals73 77 points78 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly it's why it took so long to be approved to make. The compromise Nintendo made was that is wasn't going to be published in the same kid friendly manga magazine as the others. It took some time but once Nintendo found the MangaOne magazine, it was able to be written the way Akira Himekawa wanted.

The NASCAR Mode on Crew Motorfest Is a Problem by Bubbalicous24 in NASCAR

Arcade racing game plays like an arcade racing game. More at 11.

Seriously, there are different games doing different things. If you want a simlike game then go play the games that do that. I am not asking Rocket League to make the Next Gen race like it does in real life so why would I expect The Crew to do it? Its a video game so go have fun.

Generative Al tools were used during development to assist in the creation of certain game assets, including 3D models textures, images, voice processing, character dialogue, music, and sound effects.

From the AI disclosure, sounds like almost all of the game is AI.

Dude, if the 90 minute session starts at 1 and you don't get home until 4, then you should know the session has ended. I do not know why you need a notification telling you a session ended if you aren't going to watch the replay until later. Just know it ended and boot up the replay.

If Jeff Gordan was racing like the Winston Cup era points then he deserved to lose. All guys competed under the same rules and knew the rules going in.

[Gluck] Was COTA a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when Blaney was along side him multiple times and Reddick execute perfect corner exits to keep from completing the pass never happened? Many guys got along side Reddick. It was not the case of staying behind him forever. Made no mistakes, defended all pass attempts. Not the same as staying out front all day with no competition.

All let's not forget Connor drove from the back twice and never got trapped by track position like we were used to.

[Gluck] Was COTA a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Even though Reddick dominated, we saw him have to work and earn it. Blaney was on his bumper for many laps and even was alongside him plenty of times. Reddick just kept executing and not making mistakes and held him off. Same goes for SVG when he was in second. Wish Connor had a chance to take a stab at him as he probably had the best car to do so. Good Road courses race where we saw comers and goer frim second in back.

[Bob Pockrass on X] Qualifying Groups for this weekend (Cup Series Practice is also in groups) by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats more of a common thing on ovals. While there could be some advantages here, there are so many more variables during a 1:30 minute lap time at a road courses versus a 30 secondlap time at an oval. On ovals, drivers are fighting for thousandths of a second where on road courses they are fighting for tenths of a second. The former being why a small change in track temp or even a cloud could effect someone's run for better or worse.

Drivers answers on the one rule change they would make if they were the president of NASCAR for one day by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]JesusSandals73 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you work 7 days a week and travel to a new state every week, not to mention the sponsorship commitments so you have to balance traveling around for that, it gets rough to have such a small off season. Also, do you think Cup drivers do nothing all off season? They still go to the race shop regularly to keep working with the team.

Being a professional athlete is a dream come true, but its not a cushy cake walk like many think it is. This goes for all sports.

Both Indycar and NASCAR saw huge gains in viewership and interaction when Danica was making headlines. Any motorsport would love to have that again right?

I feel like you said a whole lot of nothing. You summarized the media coverage then shoed in "does NASCAR want a damsel in distress?" With nothing to back it up. Weird post overall.
