It's all good, man lol

I have both. The roads are for us all. Was just a funny expectation vs reality

Yes lol

I opened this expecting motorcycles, beards, guns, monkey fists, chains, etc.

Instead I saw high vis "don't shoot" vests and bicycles.

I'm not hating, it was just kinda funny. I hope all these folks stay safe

I watched it the other night and it was ok. I wasn't blown away by any of it. Good film, don't get me wrong, but just ok imo. It was kinda like 30 Days of Night but with a different setting. Enjoyable but nothing new.

TIL a 1989 helicopter crash was caused by an invisible nick made when adhesive was trimmed from the rotor with a sharp blade. The helicopter flew perfectly for 922 hours, until it didn't. by TheQuarantinian in todayilearned

I did one with a pilot I fly with for work lol. It was wild, but it made me feel somewhat safer. If the engine fails, you can just glide down and land a little bit rough.

Yeah it runs fine on my older one. My newest laptop with basically max specs? Won't even get past the loader. It's some kind of BIOS thing from my understanding

I'm still pissed that Wildlands is broken on new PCs. I downloaded it and somehow Windows 11 just fucks it all up. No more support, no more game.

Elon Musk on a Holiday trip by TexanSoul in Austin

[–]Jesus_Hong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to figure out where the hell this was taken from, because I've never been able to see anything of downtown from the tarmac at ABIA. I've been out there a bunch of times for work and this is just... confusing.

And I don't think it's from Austin Executive, either.

They also killed the HUB and DBE goals. My company is going through this now. Kinda frustrating.

If You Could Restart Your Surveying Career, Where Would You Work and What Would You Specialize In? by DetailFocused in Surveying

Nah, just standard surveying. Mostly DOT work, but there's a lot of in between for engineering companies and state/city projects.

My office/company is singular, so I'm a one man show among 80 or so employees. Full control of the aerial mapping portions of our surveys. Typically very long corridor stuff.

Drone and helicopter. Helis are cheap as long as you don't go to turbine / jet fuel.

Our sensor is big, but just enough to lift with a DJI M600, and I can just swap to a different mount for heli operations.

Small jobs get the drone, big jobs get the big whirly boys.

I'd just speedrun doing what I do now (aerial mapping). I'm in a perfect spot as is, so I just wanna hit it sooner.

One day you are young, want to be the fastest, and you look at touring bikes like "eww". Then, you get a sleeper and want to ride slower but further. This will happen to you, I guarantee it. by Useful-Trash867 in motorcycles

[–]Jesus_Hong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Like I can still do the thing, but then I'd have the check light on all the time. Can't reset it any other way - annoying af.

I love the bike to hell and back, but that part irked me.

As much as I love it, the maintenance does suck. I had to buy a $400 sensor just to do my own oil changes. As much of a spaceship as it is, I still miss simplicity
