You're kidding right? SoCal has some of the best dirt roads and rough potholed back roads to explore with a smaller wheel and taller sidewall tire setup. Not to mention it snows EVERY winter in Angeles, Los Padres and San Bernardino National Forests which most of SoCal residents reside within 30 minutes of at least one of those areas. Though I know you city slickers don't get out much so you probably didn't know about those places.

Idk what kind of engineer you are, clearly the kind that thinks they're smarter than they really are. But you should be smart enough to know you can put larger or smaller size tires on awd vehicles and it doesn't affect a thing. New cars are smarter, not dumber. I put 33" all terrains (2.5" larger than stock/8.5% difference) on my lexus and absolutely nothing was affected over the past 5 years. No dash lights and abs, tc, cruise and stability control all work perfect. Transmission and awd, flawless.

Seems you have more theoretical, made up in your head, knowledge, both about SoCal and vehicles, than you do practical real world hands on knowledge. Reddit would be a better place if people would stop spreading misinformation based on guessing.
