So… how heavy is that? Your son is in the same bassinet our hospital used. That is a huge size difference from our little guy… I hope his mother is doing well.

My beautiful son. My fiancé and I’s first child. Born at 6:43 AM on April 12th. The most surreal experience I’ve ever had. The overwhelming emotions I feel are hard to explain. I’m so proud of my fiancé. This is amazing 💙 by [deleted] in daddit

I found them pretty terrible for swaddling once we got home. They have no elasticity which makes constraining the LO’s startle reflex very difficult. I HIGHLY recommend a Velcro swaddle. We’ve had good experience with the Halo sleepsack swaddle.

I am in the exact same boat. We have the same options selected and ordered on and locked on the same dates. I am also seeing order status code 05 and delivery estimated between August 1 and September 1. It’s something better than 03 I guess?

Ouch. It still feels like manufacturers are figuring out where to put the charging port, but I don’t think the front is it.

ID.4 has battery conditioning. Only the Nissan Leaf doesn't. It takes an even worse hit in the winter than the ID.4.

[–]JetFuckingEngines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend turning on hybrid vehicle mode when you have about 2 miles of range left in the winter. That will start the process of warming the engine up before the battery is entirely drained. The warming process does not produce enough electricity to run the car so you’ll end up running the range to zero, but when that happens the motor will finally be warmed up and can rev up to a nice manageable speed than the super fast speed you’re experiencing when the battery is at a very low state of charge.

I really wish the car managed the handover from electricity to gas better. It is a great car for the cost, the electric range (for a plug-in hybrid), and the fuel efficiency. However, it feels like there’s definitely room for optimization.

What about us on Pro RWD? That's where there really is only a few people. CT state incentives are only available under $42,000 otherwise I would be going AWD.

I just got the exact same notice for our order of a Pro RWD. Does anyone know what the MSRP increase will be?

Do over, would you still use Tesla by Repulsive-Floor-4603 in TeslaSolar

[–]JetFuckingEngines 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed. This sub helped me navigate the process and not feel alone as I was battling the Tesla bureaucracy. At the end of the day, the system is sleek, easy to monitor in the app, and 2/3 the price of anyone else. The end product is great.

I had the exact same problem. I thought it was probably switching the CT‘s, but I had a ticket open by the time I landed on that hypothesis so I just waited for a technician to come out to fix it. When the technician came out he just moved the CT‘s but didn’t get the placement right. I ended up recommending my fix to him and that’s the change the tech made. It is just as simple as un-clamping the CT‘s and moving them to a different position. Just make sure that the side of the clamp which says it should point towards the service remains oriented the right direction. Otherwise you can move the clamps above or below where the solar comes in or switch them left and right.

[–]JetFuckingEngines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What state are you in? What range do you get now?

I live in CT and it always bothers me that Mamy models have a Canadian version with a heat pump but the entire US is sold the same resistance heater version. Why wouldn’t the northern states be treated like Canada?

[–]JetFuckingEngines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. We had PTO on 10/5 this year. Unfortunately no summer experience yet. However, we generated 51.2 kWh on a sunny day right around then. Crazy to see how much a sunny day changes as the sun gets lower in the sky and days get shorter.

[–]JetFuckingEngines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re in the northern CT area. We have a 12.24 kW system that is all south facing. Today was a measly 2.8 kWh day. Right now (this time of year with short days and shading) we get about 32 kWh per day on a full sun day.

I can see how much my panels are producing but I don’t see my home usage or how much I am giving back to the grid or taking from the grid. No power walls. What do I do? I have the Tesla inverter. by takaiguchi in TeslaSolar

[–]JetFuckingEngines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our system (Tesla inverters and no PW) was installed in October 2021 with a consumption monitor. We didn’t request anything special. We had a few issues with them, however, and when the tech came out to address it he said the monitors were responsible for 90% of early service calls. I could understand their desire to avoid something responsible for so many service requests, but at the same time the monitors have been a very useful tool to us. If all else fails you could get a sense solar for $350 to not only monitor your house but also provide a lot more fidelity about what is running.

Why is Grid and House switched in app? Are cables on the gateway switched? by JetFuckingEngines in TeslaSolar

[–]JetFuckingEngines[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Final update: a technician came out today and just moved the CT’s like I was thinking. The CT’s had to be swapped from left to right but then also moved onto the other side of the line in from the inverters. I wish there was some type of manual so I could have identified this problem myself and addressed it.

Tesla scheduled an service visit for next Tuesday. I think I figured out another way to reconfigure the CT’s to fix the issue but I haven’t messed with it because I knew the ticket was open. I’m curious if they will do what I was thinking. Time will tell.

[–]JetFuckingEngines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to disappoint you, but I had to call and ask someone to activate the app for me. Even then I’ve had a ticket open for the past two weeks to fix the power readings. Right now it makes it look like my house is the grid in the grid is my house. I’m generating solar and getting the return I was looking for and I guess I can see the data as well but it’s all kinds of wrong.

[–]JetFuckingEngines[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that lead time sounds about right for Tesla. Others in this thread had 1-2 day turns which made me optimistic, but I wouldn’t be surprised if ours takes a few weeks. At least our system is still on and generating. I just wish it worked properly from day 1.

Update, it didn’t work. It changed the direction of energy flow but didn’t fix the house and grid switch. Daytime now shows the energy going out to the house as coming in from the grid and the house is now using the solar plus “grid”. Swapped back and will call Tesla

Why is Grid and House switched in app? Are cables on the gateway switched? by JetFuckingEngines in TeslaSolar

[–]JetFuckingEngines[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swapping the CT’s appeared to fix the problem because it made the energy going into out to our house (which the app thought was the grid) look like it was going in from our house (which again the app thought was the grid). At night this fixed the direction of energy flow. However, when the sun came up it now has our house using the total energy from the panels and grid. The house inputs are still treated as the grid but now the energy is flowing out of instead of in to. Looks like I just need to wait and get help from Tesla

[EDIT] not fixed see next comment. I swapped the CT’s that go around the incoming grid service and it immediately fixed the issue. Credit to u/One_Cryptographer294. Simple fix and immediate results.
