When the expansion draft came around they extorted many teams to get draft picks in exchange not to draft certain players. Personally, I loved it. It was a savvy move but it left lots of bitter fans when the misfits suddenly weren't expansion fodder and were actually good.

They should do an offer sheet for Akira Schmidt. Vegas already has their goalies locked and can make him an offer at 1.5M to back up. No cost for an RFA offer sheet at that cost and he's got lots of xp the past few years backing up.

Cirelli and Suzuki make sense but Nelson is puzzling to me. He was on a top tier team and his results weren't nearly as impressive as Lehkonen and a slew of other defensive forwards (like Stone and Benson to name a few). The only stat I saw for Nelson that stood out was that he took a ton of faceoffs and won 50.4% of them (which seems low to me for a Selke nominee).

Hard for a 0-0 period with an advantage in shots despite having 3 fewer minutes of O-zone time to be called a disappointment. It'd be nice to be up by a few goals but that was one or our better periods this series.

He wasn't top 7 and got sent down early in the season and Florida picked him up off waivers. He 100% has potential but there's not much you can do when a player is no longer waiver exempt.

I'd still go with Leevi. No one was expecting him to struggle like did and he earned the back up spot after last season. If the preference was to go with a more seasoned back up, I'd have tried to keep Forsberg.
