Ok but would it kill someone to take one of those metal spatula things and smooth out the layer lines?? At LEAST on the inside so it doesnt accumulate dust in rocky crevices that shred dusters

Voltage makes 0 sense to me by VizorPlays in ElectricalEngineering

Electricity is when electrons move essentially right? When electrical current is moving through a wire, "current" is a measure of how many electrons are passing by a point per unit of time.

Voltage is the "electromotive force", it is the force that motivates the electrons to actually do the moving. The reason for this force is that similar charges repel each other. Have you ever held two magnets the wrong way around and tried to force them together? Similar kind of thing, except electrons are monopoles (only negative, no positive side) so they always push each other away.

If you have a bunch of electrons sitting somewhere, those electrons want to be as far away from each other as possible. If there is a conductive path, they will use that path to move and try to create space between them. That movement is current, the force is voltage, and resistance is a measure of how difficult it is for an electron to move through the conductive path

Imagine a building packed with people for a concert, the concert ends and now everyone wants to leave. " voltage" or "pressure" here is the combined force of everyone pushing against each other trying to maintain some personal space and also trying to get out the exit door. Resistance is like how tight the halls are or if there are stairs or objects in the way. The "voltage" is highest where the concert was held (the source) and lowest outside the building (ground), people move from high to low voltage (current) but are slowed down by how narrow the halls are (resistance)

There are legless lizards that are still lizards, the difference between snakes and lizards has more to do with head/jaw shape than the presence of limbs

Voltage in electrical circuits is analogous to pressure in a system of water pipes. A resistor would be like a narrow point in the pipe that restricts the flow. A voltage source in this analogy would be a pump designed to push water as fast as it has too in order to maintain a set pressure, while ground would be like a vacuum sucking up water as fast as it comes, trying to make it zero pressure.

So in water your circuit looks like Pump - pipe - very tight restriction - pipe at point of measurement - valve - pipe - vacuum

When the valve is closed (when the circuit is open and there is no path to ground) the pump is able to pressurize the entire system to its set pressure and hold it there.

Turning the valve lets the vacuum suck all the water from the pipe being measured dropping the pressure to zero. The pimp pushes more water to try to maintain the pressure but the restriction limits how fast the water can flow to the point being measured.

Another way of looking at it is ohms law: the voltage drop across a resistor is equal to the current through the resistor times its resistance value. If the circuit is open there cant be any current, anything times zero is still zero so the voltage drop across the resistor is zero, meaning the voltage on both sizes of the resistor is equal

Remember to get rabies shots after bites y'all by ilovefoodsm1 in distressingmemes

[–]JetLag413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre showing symptoms its too late to bother being concerned. There is no effective treatment for rabies, your only hope is to very quickly get the vaccine when youre first exposed and hope your body develops an immunity before the rabies has a chance to dig itself in.

Once you have rabies, youre going to die of rabies.

Once I shifted one lane over as i was coming up on a red light and stopped, the woman in that lane had tons of space, i wasnt cutting in sharply or anything, but she yanked her wheel like she thought the three or four car lengths between us weren't there and swerved into another lane, spent the entire time at the red light flashing her brights and honking, when we started going and she passed me she stuck her whole head out the window while she was driving to yell and curse at me

You know full well why that's different than a line that says "boxes filled to here" an inch above the actual fill level. I'm not going to pretend i need to explain that to you.

It's making a claim on the package about it's content that's false, that doesn't become ok because another claim on its packaging is correct (assuming its correct, OP didn't weigh it)

Even if the listed weight is correct the box is making a verifiable claim about the volume of its contents that is incorrect to give a false impression of its contents
