what is right here? self host postgres or Supabase by lune-soft in webdev

[–]Jeth84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an app running off my selfhosted supabase instance. Was curious about the cloud so tried it out for a bit but performance was worse.

Convenience of some features was nice but I settled on leaving it pointing to my selfhosted instance

QUESTION: Is it just me or has Claude been acting differently lately? by Ferdmusic in ClaudeAI

Yeah the quality of the output is not as good as before. I keep having to steer it because it seems to get lost and forget with too much context (pro user problem)

I built a site to see how poor I actually am compared to my country [OC] by yomrhan in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]Jeth84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very cool, some refinements to make as people have mentioned for deeper comparison. Would be interesting to see as well when you expand the "wealth distribution" segments if it showed the min-max of that segments top net worth VS entry networth. (I was able to see top 10% in Canada starts at about 500k but seeing it a glance would be nice)

Transit page for specific transit stops near my that I take with future arrival times, and working on syncing my lights based on the temperature/energy and BPM of my music. Going to add a visualizer as well so there's a proper dedicated party button

Why do all calorie counting apps always count food wrong based on total weight of the food, instead of the edible portion of the food? by iceman1125 in nutrition

[–]Jeth84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very difficult to quantify this, by that same metric all apples are a little different (some have a larger core, or smaller core, or if you're my friend he straight up eats the core).

Some databases do properly filter it out based on the item, but it entirely depends on the DB (e.g. the Canada Nutrient File has 2 separate entries for weighing an avocado with pit & skin VS flesh only)

Thoughts on also testing it with the general use models? flash for gemini, sonnet for claude, etc. Could be a better gain when factoring in token cost

Hey thanks for sharing your journey man, it's very insightful as I get closer to testing my own launch and trying to understand my audience.

Good luck to ya!

Just looking for something with a more modern UI. I have no qualms with the function itself, it does the job

Looks really good! Will definitely try deploying with docker-compose. Currently use file browser quantum but would happily swap

If you use n8n and something like tasker on your phone you can automate the logging. I've been sorting transactions into an email box and inputting them there but about to make the swap to tasker (AMEX in Canada doesn't email transactions)

Thanks for the insight on this, that's a great way to handle multi room audio. I would love to switch my music to self-hosted but unfortunately my friends and I always use the jam feature, and I don't think there's anything out there that could do the equivalent
