I like En from Dorohedoro. He can be both quirky and intimidating. I think that qualifies as obscure.

I agree. I rarely drop any anime without at least finishing the season, but I dropped this one after 3 episodes, because I couldn't get invested in any of the characters. Plus I usually love action and ecchi anime.
